by RagingBull ini went to the sixscreens site to see if rick had posted any new conference calls, but the last one was from the 7th of may.

was it the johnny "the bethelite" fiasco that put a stop to it all?

So...Mother's Day and Father's Day is bad also...? Where does it say this in the bible?
by Joliette inlet me guess...the dubs have got a scipture for this also, right?.
but its okay to celebrate anniversary's and graduations and baby showers?.

Yeah, its funny how the Bible says not to go "Beyond Scripture". This means, if its NOT in the Bible...its not such a big deal that you have to worry about your Salvation over it.
When it comes to celebrations and traditions...Paul always taught that if it doesn't bother your conscience...fine, but if it stumbles another, makes them feel uncomfortable etc. its best to be a good neighbor and show love by helping that one feel comfortable in your company.
The OOONLY time the JWs follow this is with "alcohol". If there's a cook out or gathering where someone is present and they do not drink (maybe because of past problems), its best to not serve drinks. Perfect example, but that's the ONLY time they follow it.
If you go against your conscience...this is a sin. (from the Bible) That means, if you're fine with it...and it doesn't bother you...make you feel "guilty", it is NOT A SIN!

Elder on my JC Killed in Warehouse Accident!
by jookbeard inalmost chocked on my cornflakes this morning reading the story in my local paper, not too sure how to embed the link but the sutton guardian.co.uk will have the story now.. basically dave churchill worked for a local catering company and was moving a stack of tables with some sort of trolley and they toppled down landed on him he died 2 days later in st george's hospital.. i'd known him most of my adult dub life and he was an elder in my ex wifes congregation, he also gave our wedding talk, he is survived by his wife elaine , they never had kids.. during my dissent into "apostasy" he was selected as one of the elders on my jc because he knew me but during my jc he came across and as an arrogant, self righteous, argumentative down right rude pos certainly showed characteristics that i had never experienced before and along with his "mate" on my jc another bellend named stan rogers started this bad cop/good cop shit on me during the 2 weekends on meetings, the other 2 on my jc chairman geoff woodfield and rensford ming showed themselves to be decent men.
3 amazing incidents have be felled these 2 men in the years that followed my jc, events that i've rarely mentioned much over the years.. isn't karma an amazing thing.

Too bad he wasn't in Field Service when he died. (I actually heard a brother say, in his talk, "what better way to end this life than in service to Jehovah out in the Ministry?" He was referencing someone who had died because they were hit by a car out in the door to door work, and refused a transfusion thus died)

Today my husband surprised me...
by mrsjones5 inyesterday we were getting our van repaired and while that was going on we decided to window shop at a really cool furniture consignment shop.
i saw a baker's rack that was really nice and that i would love to have.
hubby looked at it too and thought it was a nice piece but we had to leave the shop to pick our van.

The Governing Body told me to tell you.. "FATHERS' DAY is BAD! It is assigning undue honor and idolizing a person to a degree. You should be placing that honor and respect to Jehovah, his Son Jesus Christ, and the Faithful and Discrete slave (not the 144,000 together) the Governing Body. Don't make us pull you into the back room." LOL!! joking.

This was funny. So, if a brother is seen coming from a wordly female's house one morning...could he say "I was only there 60mins, that's not all night!" :)
So she did that, now they're separated and she has problems with alcoholism? Anyone can see that she MOST-LIKELY has someone 'taking care of business' in the bedroom.

I'm sorry I knocked on your door
by corpusdei inthey say the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
nowhere is that more evident, i think, than in the kingdom hall.
like so many others that i knew, i thought the watchtower society had it right, that their answers were the correct ones.

When I come out, I will not apologize for knocking on doors... I think once a month I will make it up to them by knocking on their doors...to warn them about JWs and Cults. (I will NOT be wearing a tie and slacks when I do so. LOL)

magazine supply reduction
by agent zero inat the meeting tonight was read a letter to all congregations in canada.
it explained that since most publishers end up with left-over public edition magazines that didn't get placed at the end of each month, they will now no longer continue to have an individual magazine order per publisher.
instead, the entire congregation's supply of service edition magazines will be in a stack at the back of the kh, and they are to be taken according to need, with whatever is left over after service to be put back in the stack.

Wachtower says 97% of teens masturbate....is it realistic that 100% Witness teens don't?
by Witness 007 in"young people ask" book admits 97% of youths masturbate...to put it into perspective, it's like saying 97% of the worlds population own a phone or a t.v!!
so is it realistic to believe these witnesses going thru puberty and teenage years won't on penalty of death?.
i always thought, if nearly 100% of teens do it isn't it normal?.

Yeah the Society wears this subject out. But skims (if that) over pedophilia. wonder why they never have "experiences" in their magazines of those victims that were touched by an elder or other cong. member. They only seem to tell of how ones overcame "wordly" opposition.
can you say "ONE-SIDED"?

Watch Out, False Prophets!
by snowbird inzechariah 13:4-6 "on the big day, the lying prophets will be publicly exposed and humiliated.
then they'll wish they'd never swindled people with their 'visions.
' no more masquerading in prophet clothes.but they'll deny they've even heard of such things: 'me, a prophet?
