by apocalypse inin my city, there's been a husband and wife who quit this week.
hurray!.
the first thing that came to mind when i heard it was 'they didn't need my help'.. you see, many in my city who quit in the past were previously on my mailing list.

White marine beaten by group of black men using Fergusen case as excuse, media won't say 'black men' though.
by EndofMysteries inthis pisses me off, after all the news agencies that point out that things such as the ferguson shooting were a white man killing a black "kid" (18 years old and if an 18 yr old is accused of commiting a sex crime then suddenly they are a "grown man").
now look at this story from ny times, "a 32-year-old marine was beaten by a group of men outside of a mississippi restaurant after he was warned it wasn't safe for white people in the wake of the michael brown killing in missouri," .
so black on white crime, i guess they can't say "a group of black men", it just has to be a group of men?

I should probably add that I feel parents and mentors/leaders should educate the public (black youth in particular) on how to appropriately BEHAVE, and ADDRESS the police. Many take the defensive stance too soon, automatically assuming that the police is going to "do something" to them. That is when disrespect and aggressiveness is projected onto the officer. This will in turn make the officer feel threatened and go into "survival" mode. I do have and have had police officers in my family...the #1 thing on a cop's mind is leaving his shift ALIVE.
In America...many black men are in FEAR of the cop, the COP is the one with the gun. The COP is the one with the lawful right to "shoot to kill". When being stopped, make no sudden movements. Cops address people as SIR and MA'AM. Return the same respect. Know your rights. Even if you are wrongfully detained, searched, or arrested...stay calm, let your lawyer or the judge sort it out. At least you live and are not shot in 'self defense' by the officer.

Before I begin, I'll let it be known that I identify myself as a "black man" even though my mom is 1/2 white.
Not everyone in the "black community" keep a level head when scars of racial tensions run so deep. I'm sure the HISTORY in America is known as less than stellar when it comes to African Americans, Native Americans, Asian Americans and the "White Man". It is indeed very unfortunate, scary, and disrespectful what happened to this soldier. However, there are still parts of the SOUTH that are not safe for black people...even without a national story being the reason for warning.
I do believe that this is indeed a HATE Crime and it will be proven to be so in court. It did say that the men were African American/Black. The men involved were ignorant. Many people following the Brown case are mistaking the REAL ISSUE at hand. As a black man, in America, who has been "detained" for "fitting the discription" (1994), and ARRESTED for something that happened while I was at work on night-shift (1998) - that case was dropped once the facts came out...but I still had to pay for my lawyer, I can say that the REAL ISSUE is RACE RELATIONS (profiling etc.) among 1st- THE POLICE (white, black, hispanic etc.) AND BLACK PEOPLE and 2nd- THE POLICE and their use of EXCESSIVE FORCE. I'm sure you remember the White Cop that peppersprayed White Protesters during Occupy Wall Street.
Sometimes BLACK COPS are harder on young Black men than White cops.
It's sad these things go on still, but riots, revenge, and news cameras never help the situations.

If the Governing Body Told You They Love You All Very Much, What Would Your Reply Be?

these words were later echoed by one of the governing body in an address to french jehovah's witnesses in july this year.
these words sound so marvellously compelling and heartfelt - goosebump inducing, even.. imagine the governing body wrote these words to you or expressed them to you in person- yes to you reading these very words.

It's All About Tablets

everybody buys a tablet.
even the poor families that eat carb heavy meals are gettin' em.. maybe they can't afford the latest apple product like the maxi/mini pad or whatever they're calling it these days so a trip to ebay or overstock.com fills the bill.. use it instead of a songbook.

At the International Convention, when the sun was out, I remember being BLINDED by the rays reflecting off of some of the tablets out there.
Kingdom Halls are getting the "Business" Package for internet service at many of the KH and AHs all over. Xfinity is getting paaaaaid.
An advantage to the JW.ORG is ... hopefully, members will stop going to the literature counters. When asked why they're not taking magazines and donating money for it they can say "Oh I tell the householders that the magazines are on JW.ORG!" What? The elders' gonna tell someone NOT TO PROMOTE JW.ORG??? OVER THE GBs DEAD BODIES!!! (don't I wish)

Could it be that Jehovah is punishing me for leaving his religion?
by Julia Orwell ini know it's a completely absurd thing to say, but something happened to me today that triggered the old cult reaction.
my mind instantly lapsed back into that of a jw and for a split second i thought that because i wasn't doing jehovah things that jehovah's blessing had been removed from me and this is why my life seems to be running into so many dead-ends.
as a jw i attributed anything good happening to me to being the result of my being a good jw and dutifully doing everything the borg teaches.

Take this as some reassurance... there were some JWs that had car troubles and luggage lost etc. on their way TO the Conventions this summer....
Also they say (in scripture) HE makes it rain on the righteous AND the "wicked" so..... GOD IS NOT PARTIAL. PLUS IF YOU KNOW HOW TO GIVE GOOD GIFTS TO YOUR CHILDREN, HOW MUCH MORE WILL THE HEAVENLY FATHER ----- you get the idea.

My wife sees the lack of love and.. Any suggestions on how to proceed?
by BU2B inin the past few weeks, my wife has been seeing more and more the lack of love and caring from jws.
for example, she is organizing a "princess party" for our 4 year old daughter.
a couple of the parents have expressed reservations about this since they think princesses may be "too magical" even though we know they have been to disneyworld, and watch the disney channel.

(note that i successfully faded as opposed to ever being disfellowshipped due to dodging every elder question with "i'm not sure, i'm still searching and trying to find the answers.").

What I mean is... I plan to leave abruptly. I plan to politely decline any requests for meetings or JC hearings. Those are all WT matters and I will not play their game no longer. Some choose to fade, and that's fine. But I want them to know that I am so convinced that they're ful of crap, I will have no need to step foot into another KH or Assembly etc. ever again. The so-called friends I had IN the ORG were some of the most petty, sometimey, 2-faced individuals I've ever known. The org has had no POSITIVE affect on my life with the exception of my wife. Even she has a problem with the pedo scandals and policies.
Why not 2014? Well, because we're already IN 2014...and I want to start my clean slate on a day that no one that knows me will forget. They will know that the second after the end of the 100th year of Christ's reign, I left the ORG.
1914 - 2014, 100yrs of new definitions to Apostates, Generations, Governing Body, International conventions yadda yadda, no big deal... you guys stay if you want, I think I've had enough of the BS...good bye.
In my life, I see (have to deal with) JWs at the meetings and an occassional gathering. When I think about it, they have very, very little impact on my day to day life. None of them pay my bills, I work with none of them, when I come home, they are not here to monitor me... WHO WOULD I BE PLEASING? WHAT'S THE POINT OF IT ALL?
WT will still pull in about $140,000,000.00 per Month without me...what's ONE lost sheep right? LOL
