To Blondie: When a child is six years old, I think it IS child abuse. Emotionally, intellectually, and psychologically. That child will never have a normal childhood. If they decide to quit the WT later in life, the price will be their souls. I still think the age should be 18, the age of being able to make a legal contract. And better yet, it should be 30 years old just like Jesus. Isn't he the example to be followed "as a model"?

I always wondered why the WT didn't follow the example of Jesus and have people wait until they are 30 years old. They will probably use some excuse about the Mosaic Law and it not being over with yet when Jesus got baptized, but if there was ever a good time to use a literal example for something, I would think Jesus would be it. I will never understand how anyone under the age of 18 (and in my case 27 years old) can commit his/her life to an organization that has the potential to tear his life and family asunder if the rules aren't obeyed. People aren't even allowed to get married in most states at the ages that the WT encourages baptism. Yet marriage to them is not as important. It also seems that more people suffer depression and suicide after being DF'd than they do after a divorce. To me, this indicates that the end of a marriage might be more survivable than being DF'd and shunned for life by your family. There is no logic in this.
Does anyone know of a study or some information that has a bearing on this issue? I would greatly appreciate it. Many thanks in advance.

Find me one scripture that says it is wrong to tell the truth. Show us ONE instance where Jesus scolded someone for upholding God's word. And don't argue that we don't because we don't agree with the WT. The WT is NOT God's organization. Can you get that through your thick skulls?? Not ONE prophecy the WT ever said or predicted has ever come true. How much more evidence do you need?? You are batting zero out of thousands of rules and teachings. I think Atheists are more in God's favor than the WT, at least they don't make a corporate career out of raping children, lying, DF'ing people who blow the whistle on them, and for upholding their consciences.
JW's don't try to pin a date concerning 1914??? It's the basis of your entire religion. Russell, who by the way, was NOT the first president of the WT, was a crackpot who fell for every snake oil salesman of his day. Measuring tunnels in pyramids and using that to calculate years!! I mean, really!! He was insane. And Rutherford was a psychopath and an alcoholic.

To Blondie: Can I insert a few more dates? How about after 1918 when Jesus came to inspect, then in 1919 he threw up. Then he tried to take out the trash (wrong teachings) later that year, but ran out of angels to get the work done before 1920, which was another special year.
If JW's were "inspired" (yes, you WT clowns did use that word) to start up in the late 1800's to proclaim 1914, and now it's not true, then you were NOT started up by God as his people. You didn't do anything right, so why would God use YOU?? Dozens of other religions have better track records than you do.

The JW's kiss a new person's a** to get him to attend the hall and get "dunked", then after baptism, when he's cut all his friends and family, they rip him open if he disagrees with one little point. You operate just like the Mafia. At least they don't keep changing the rules.
One last challenge: If any of you JW's want to argue this out man to man (you'll have to send sisters, you have no men), then say so. We'll meet you with the proof and take you out once and for all. An eye for an eye? I lost my family because they are shunning me. Someday, I'm going to take out the people responsible. You like to call names? This is some of the worst f***ing bullshit I've ever read in my life. I have a degree in Psychology. My daughter was raped/molested from the age of nine until she was 13 by a JW "brother" from a nearby congregation. The elders and his wife all knew what he was doing. He still visited my home (he was a repairman and I needed work done) and continued to molest my daughter. I researched Danny's site, Silent Lambs (on which I'm very active as MAN), and here on Freeminds. I read several books by Ray Franz and other well-known ex-JW's. I HAVE DONE MY HOMEWORK. I researched court cases, police files, and other information on the Internet. (I'm also a network engineer, so I know a little about the Internet.) Every single elder rebuffed me and my research. They only asked, "did I believe Jehovah was using the WT?" I told them to go to Hell. I was reproved. My daughter developed emotional disorders and I stated that if she died because of this, I would kill those responsible. The statement still stands. I'm half Sicilian and I DO NOT FORGIVE OR FORGET. Now down to business.
First, please look at Deut. 22:25-27, especially verse 27. If this doesn't describe the situation of an abused or raped female, then what does?? And notice how many witnesses were required? Just ONE. The woman. DO YOU SEE THAT, WT IDIOTS??? And don't tell me the OT doesn't count anymore, you quote from it often enough, you lying hypocrites.
To ask an abuse victim to confront her abuser is the height of insanity. The victim will be traumatized all over again. My daughter couldn't even stay in the same house and had to move. Actually, my wife left me a few years after this happened and I told her what I found about the WT and informed her that I couldn't belong to a child-raping cult any longer. So she left and took my daughter. I suffered several health problems due to this, so I sympathize with Danny.
The WT has NO ONE qualified to make statements about child abuse. I don't care how many "doctors" work there, they are all idiots if they recommend the advice at the beginning of this thread. I am writing a book about the entire situation and I WILL find a way to get on the media somehow, whether radio or TV. I will have a part in seeing the WT destroyed forever. We'll see who has the truth when Bethel is taken by court order and this CULT is outlawed in as many countries as possible.
You have been warned, WT. You will NOT win. God, if he exists, and if he does he better do something soon or else, is not on your side. Change your ways or suffer the consequences. I play for keeps and we won't be settling this in court. Capice??

First, I'm so sorry for all of you who lost family or friends because of this. I think many have hit the nail on the head. The WT is trying to play legal word games. They want their cake and to eat it too. If they word this the right way, they can (they believe, we'll see in court later) avoid lawsuits. Yet they can still punish those who don't follow the "read between the lines" instructions they are really giving. As someone earlier said, I can't wait until they are flushed down the toilet where they belong.

Hi Candid: I read the Jay Walters story and that's the gossip that went around about him. Aside from starting your own church or not, how would every JW learn about something (bad enough if it's true, worse if it's not) without being guilty of slander and gossip. Maybe they'll all claim they were "warning" other JW's so they could be protected. I mean, God forbid that someone might actually open their Bible and learn something that's really true.
Most people I know that quit don't even go to any church. They are sick of organization. Some become agnostic, as I did. A few join JW reform movements. I don't have any figures, perhaps Randy would know?
And why ever on earth would it be wrong to read the Bible with your family?? What happened to that scripture in the OT about the father/mother sitting down with their children to instruct them about God? They didn't have to go to any special temple far away, did they? Most instruction was just the family, in their own house or property.
I don't know if technically it's starting a church if you study at home with just the family. I think the fact that people who do this are criticized shows that the WT doesn't really want strong families unless it's on their terms. I mean, Dad might ask questions about the Bible that can't be answered from the WT literature. Or a child could find a different understanding from what they read than the WT's explanation.
Family study lets people think and discuss the Bible ONLY. We wouldn't want that now, would we?? How about what Jesus said about if 2 or 3 were gathered in his name, he would be there. Does that make their house a church? How could anyone, including the WT, discourage people from reading the Bible. Doesn't that big sign on the building in NYC say something about "read the Bible daily"?

To Enl. Cynic: Again, you have my deepest sympathy. I've never seen such a crock of sh*t in my life. How spouses can betray each other makes you wonder if they married YOU or a male body who was a JW and she could stand to look at you longer than 5 minutes. She feels unsafe? Excellent parody, Terry. One of the least understood treacheries of the WT is their ability to lie to the public AND to the JW's with a straight face. Sometimes I think they actually believe it themselves. I can't recommend the book "1984" enough. I almost think Orwell was a JW when I read it. It is so accurate. You have my sympathy, this sounds like my wife and circumstances. I could never love a woman who squealed on me for reading a book to see if our child's rape was a common occurrence in the WT. I have a degree in Psych. You have virtually no chance of having a healthy marriage with this woman. Any love you feel will have "strings" attached to it forever. I would fade, divorce her (after considering what's best for any children), and move on. If you stay with her, you'll hate yourself forever.
I'm sorry to be so blunt, but even the back scratching sounds familiar. She is using you and dictating the terms. You simply can't let that asshole elder treat you like that. God, I can't believe how F***ed up these people are. They all need to be in one large asylum. Call your wife's bluff. No sex, no affection, no meetings, no study. Did she love and marry YOU or a male JW? If she chooses the WT over you, then you have your answer. I loved my wife too, but lost respect for her and me when I tried to go back to the meetings after quitting when I discovered the child rape policies.
