Thanks flipper. I suppose there's always next year, which is the official motto of the Cleveland Indians. At least tomorrow evening at 8 PM I will be in front of my television watching the game. Years back I would have been at the ever important book study that doesn't seem so important anymore since they did away with it.

I'm sure one's baptismal state would influence if one left or not. I also think it would be influenced by how much family is still "in" and whether or not they would shun if you quietly faded, as I did. Some of my cousins exclude me, some don't, my brother doesn't, but we were always close. Statistics would be interesting, although we would never get any from the Borg. Like, how many have left who were baptized before age 21 as opposed to how many have left who were baptized after 21. It still blows my mind that they would baptize a 9 year old and hold her to that decision for the rest of her life! Like, you make all your life decisons when you are 9? Personally, I feel that is a very unloving thing on the part of the parents knowing it could open all kinds of problems for the young person down the road.

Purging and letting go of the past
by Skinnedsheep inmy wife and i decided that today would be the day that we would let go of the past.
we collected all of our watchtower published books and brochures and threw them out.
it was honestly bitter sweet to toss our old pioneer books, marked up insight books, and notes from 25 years of conventions.

punkofnice That is hilarious! Skinnedsheep Good for you, that has to feel good. Now you have room for MORE STUFF, like that Rubbermaid commercial said when the lady whose house was a mess and she got all organized with Rubbermaid bins...she said now, I need more stuff! Hopefully it is good stuff that will hold future happy memories for you and your family.

Listening to NPR yesterday morning, they had a neurologist on who was talking about development of the human brain. She said the brain doesn't complete it's development until the mid 20's, something about neural insulation, you would have to look up the details. So, a nine year old? Looking at that photo of that sweet little girl breaks my heart! They went on to say that of course, the brain changes through out life, which is wonderful, as most of us on this site can attest to when our brains went from cult mode to knowing TTATT.

Hilarious Rumor: Halloween falls on Friday the 13th for first time in 666 years.
by OnTheWayOut inthe date passed by already, so i will mention the silly rumor that was going around.
this is freaking hilarious.
the rumor is a gullibility joke where it is hoped that the reader fails to remember that this holiday observance is on the fixed date of october 31st.

Hey, wouldn't that make a clever costume? Dress a little boy in a polyester suit and tie, put the little girl in a dress and put JW.org badges on them. They could use their bookbag to collect the candy. When asked what they are supposed to be, they could belt out "We're Jehovah's Witnesses". (Do they still sing that one? It's been 30 years since I have been to the KH.)HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Well, you do know why the JWs don't celebrate Halloween don't you? They don't appreciate random people coming to their door.

Listening to NPR this morning, not exactly the place to go for sports. Anyway, the guy kept saying the Royals were incredibly lucky to win all those playoff games, luck went their way, blah blah, and dont forget they are a wild card. Well, geez, so are the friggin Giants numbskull! See why you shouldnt go to NPR for sports. Yes, the Tribe last won the series in 1948, 2 years before I was here, got beat by the Giants in 1954, got beat by the Braves in 1995 and lost a heartbreaker to the Marlins in 1997, thanks to a blown save by Jose Mesa, whose name is still sh** in Cleveland. Man, so close, should have had that one. You have to be tough to be a Cleveland sports fan.
I tell my family that when I die, probably sometime in the next 30 years, they can put on my marker "I told you they wouldnt win in my lifetime" then have a little Wahoo next to it.
