  I hope the moderators don't take this thread down. It is a testimony to your hypocrisy and the lack of decency of the hundreds who have read this thread and have said nothing.

  Alan F.'s remarks about inferiority complexes and your problem with YOUR inferiority complex were right on the mark. Your following comments make you out to be a bigger piece of shit than your original post on this thread.

  Having practiced both meditation and prayer I am hard pressed to say one is better than the other, but would say that depending on your circumstances at the moment you might find one more beneficial than the other.

  Comair Crash shows extreme carelessness

  since runways are identified by their compass headings (runway 22 is 220 degrees, runway 26 is 260 degrees, etc.

  ) one would think that a pilot at a small airport with only two runways, one being way too short for that particular aircraft, would simply look at his compass heading when he lined up for take-off.

  even in daylight it is just about impossible to percieve the difference in runway length simply by eyeball.

  Quite sad.

  I remember listening to a black box recording of some pilots of a passenger jet joking with a visitor to the cockpit before they took off. They were laughing that the black box recorder was something for their families to remember them by. And the flight crew didn't do their routine checklist and put the flaps in the right position. The black box recorded flawlessy as they went full throttle down the runway for take-off and never left the ground. It ends with them all screaming and the plane smashing into a building.

  i just got back from a trip designed to conquer a fear.

  i have always been afraid to camp by myself in the deep woods, and last week i set out to change that.

  If you've read about our National Parks and the freaks they attract, you'd feel much better taking a firearm with you.

  I have hiked and camped in Yosemite Park and twice had unexpected encounters with bears. One in the middle of the night where it circled me and my campfire for hours which was quite unpleasant, and the second coming down the trail from Half Dome and coming upon a mother black bear and her cub heading up the mountain.

  I have no illusions that a pistol is going to stop an attacking bear unless it's one of the really big calibers. One hiker carrying a .38 managed to get off five rounds before he was killed and eaten by a bear. Only one of his shots even penetrated the fat layer. You're going to have to wait for the bear to get really close and try and get it in the face.

  I took a class on hiking here in Dallas and our teacher, a prolific hike leader and a woman, often goes out alone deep into the woods on camp-outs. She always sets up a perimeter of brush and branches as an alarm in case "something" is coming down the trail in the middle of the night. The theory is the animal or person will step through the brush in the dark thus making a lot of noise and waking you up. Doing this has alerted her to large animals when they get close to her tent, and in one instance a large bear.

  It would behoove you to diversify some of your scholastic expenditures towards a good therapist. Go seek one before you turn another year old, much less 90.

  My yoga mat and my yoga routine DVD.

  It's a great workout that builds strength and gets the stress out of your muscles. Most local libraries have yoga videos and dvd's you can try, or use Netflix or some such.
