A Catholic Bishop, asked what he would say about a mother with no money stealing milk for her baby, said that the particular situation could always override a basic rule.
In other words, the rule is, Do not Steal, but in this case ythe needs of the hungry baby and the mother's poverty could mean that in fact she had not sinned.
A JW elder was asked the same question. He replied that the rule always stood firm. The mother had sinned gravely. But what about her poverty and the baby's hunger, he as asked. No, somoene else could look after the baby. The mother has sinned severely.
There you have the intransigence and uncaring judgemental attitude of the JW's. Those answers are illuminating, to me.
