  Recently heard rumor, can anyone substantiate?

  so a friend of mine said that one of their family members told them the following:.

  ... was telling me last monday that entire congos were being dissovled due to individualized thinking.. .

  now, i haven't heard anything specific, and if there were widespread rumors i'm fairly confident we would hear them here.

  today, many moviegoers will entertain themselves with a movie called 'the avengers'.

  filled with violent content, spiritism, and demonic overtones, it is hardly any surprise that those who are affected by 'the spirit of the world' will be drawn to its themes.

  I am quaking with fear of Jehovah's righteous anger, and blushing with shame at being caught in the vicious satanic traps set by such wicked individuals.

  I haven't returned to Christendom but I've reverted to pagan wordly holidays. I've wandered away from Jehovah's clean people and been led into a spiritual wasteland!

  LOL, NC!

  There's no consistency. It was my study conductor who said that about praying out loud, when she was explaining to me about demons. ()

  But next minute she'd be praying out loud, and thanking Jehovah for the study.

  In retrospect, I see how ridiculous it all was. While I was "studying", and going to meetings, and the later on when I was a publisher, I didn't totally believe such nonsense deep down, but I did willingly suspend disbelief because they managed to get under my radar somehow, and I really believed for a while that Jehovah was in charge of the whole caboodle and that any imperfections were because of exactly that, imperfection.

  But obviously it was those darn demons again.

  I've been told that if you pray out loud, the demons will listen and know what's on your mind. Then they play tricks on you to catch you out.

  If you are studying and don't throw away everything from a previous religion, the demons will live in it. It's no good hiding those wicked crosses away in a drawer. The demons will creep out when you least expect them!

  And if you buy anything second hand, you run a big risk. Often it'll be OK, but sometimes you'll bring a demon into the house, and you can just feel it, you know? Burn it, get rid of it!

  Odd that. If a demon is a spirit, burning shouldn't do it any harm, should it? if an object is hidden in a drawer, but the demon is spirit, why would that be shut in the drawer? You'd think it'd kind of ooze out through the wood!

  And as for prayer, just think of the demons crowding around in the Kingdom Halls, agog to hear what everyone's saying to Jehovah!

  Er...hang on...that little brown book is called a Reasonong Book, isn't it?... Reason?...

  I think the WT lost its reason a long, long time ago!

  Why do JWs take 10 pages to answer a simple question?

  whenever i ask jws a simple question about the bible i get ten or more pages in reply.. for example, i ask: "why is lazarus conscious after death (lazarus and the rich man in luke 16)?".

  the brother says he'll get back to me.

  then he gives me get 10+ pages of printed wtbs cd-rom material and asked if i've been reading apostate sites (i think they want to da me).. so i ask another question: "why didn't jesus just use another example that didn't involve consciousness in a burning hell?

  That's a standard response, isn't it? After I stopped going, one sister came to see me. She really liked me. She really missed me. I had shown such zeal, Naively, I began to expolain some of my misgivings. She said words to the effect that sometimes she wondered about things but then she pulled herself together. "But what else is there? Where else can we go, because this is the truth, isn't it?"

  I don't remember exactly what I said, but it was something bland, I think, about my perspective changing.

  That was the last I saw of her. Because, after all, where else could she go? She couldn't leave her safe place under Jehovah's umbrella, could she?

At no time was the Word a god, but scholars have found that the translation "the Word was a god" is evident as being entirely accurate and best indicates the Word's grammatical anarthrous state.)

  And by the way, Captain Obvious's post is brilliantly subtle, suggesting, as it does, the deepest qualities inherent in the NWT.

  it was another thread that prompted me to start this one , not appropiate for the former thread.

  and it`s because the wt often promotes that jehovah/jesus protects and looks after his loyal followers ,that when something adverse occurs , the suspicion/judgement is "oh they must have been doing something wrong that nobody knew about, but you cant hide it from jehovah."mentality.

  apparently, the society knows exactly when the great tribulation is going to break out, but they're only letting the public know through subliminal messages in their images.

  here's a new chain letter that's being passed around between witnesses:.

  (daniel 2:34, 35, 44, 45).

  I don't think the stone and image pictures have a subliminal message. If they have to do with how close we are to the end, and they probably do, I think this is the GB covering their backs.

  It works like this. They've got to keep the sheep interested. if they can keep them on their toes in a state of constant credulous expectancy, all the better.

  So, they make sure that everyone is still believing that The Day is almost upon us. They don't dare give another date. That's been done too often and it's wearing a bit thin. So, instead, that rolling stone gets closer and closer and started chipping bits off the image last summer. But just so the sheep will really know that it's coming closer than ever....so close you can really feel it...(how often have you heard that recently?) they put it in the pictures, illustrating it. The chips are flying off the image, it's almost NOW!

  But they won't say that, because they don't want anyone to draw a parallel with Camping. Covering their backs. Then when it doesn't arrive, well, they didn't give a date, it's still almost here.

  that is what i heard last night at my yoga class.

  she said for something to be fixed first it must become known what needs fixing.

  it is true for the physical, but also for the spiritual i believe.
