this is my first time now that i'm registered.

in a discussion with some other dear ones, the question was asked as to what such ones put their faith in.
in response to one comment that"one can't function without faith," another disagreed, stating ones can, that "many do so every day... the ones who have trust" (in things like the sun rising in the east versus the west).
that trust extended to "faith" based "on nature and the natural order of things.
one of the things that I am concerned about regarding the new areopagus that AGuest and tec "set up" is the fact that that IS their place to meet with others and share their "faith(s)". acts 17:21
I wonder what these people would do if the internet went down forever...where would these people go to gather with like-minded individuals?...they have rejected true and honest fellowship with the mainstream church. I know AGuest and co. have been building their "church" on sand, essentially. the internet is indispensable to their fellowship. Jesus built the church on peter and wind and rain has not washed it away...the fellowship IS without the internet. ephesians 2:19-22

No doctrines, no rules of belief, not even a general consensus of belief. No teacher (I saw in another thread someone had referred to AGuest as my teacher! That is very funny!)
People are there because they like the quiet gentle atmosphere, a haven from other types of internet behaviour sometimes encountered. Also, and primarily, because the discussuions there are rathr interesting.
The members are from a variety of religious traditions and none. They don't even necessarily believe the same things, though the majority believe in and follow Jesus Christ, as in the forum's title.

i needed a prescription renewed and found out my old doc retired...met my new doc and took this opportunity to update my medical record...removed the no blood transfusion clause from my file.
i told the doctor that inconsistencies within my church's doctrines made it impossible for me to put my life at risk for no valid reason.
after throwing out my medical directive card, amending my medical record is another step toward totally breaking free from the cult.

It set me wondering. Here where I live, a JW is a vet. Would his JW principles be in conflict with anything he might need to do for animals, or would he have to compromise his principles to enable him to fulfil his duty to owners and animals?
I'm not very well up on animal medicine in general, even after a lifetime spent with animals in variety.
i would like to know what your thoughts are on who or what is the comforter mentioned by jesus in the bible.
i have heard different opinions on this matter from a christian perspective and am hoping you could share your beliefs with me god-willing.

first thing I did when I walked was alter my instructions about blood.
And buy some black pudding.
PS but honesty compels me to add that for several months thereafter, when in the supermarket, I would hide the black pudding under other items of my shopping. And even now, when I buy this, I have to make an effort not to do so. Even now!!!! Black pudding is something my family love!

when i left the cult some years ago the response from the local jw's was venomous.
things have been changing lately, a number of elders have actually taken the time to engage me in conversation.
these tend to be those that were told they would never go to school let alone grow old.
The trouble for me is that all the ones I know are ruled with a rod of iron by the elders and the whole lot are in thrall to the GB/faithful slave nonsense.
Anything less would be turning their back on Jehovah, which, according to them, is what I have done.
hi guys, i am known to some on here and to prevent further problems from the trolls that may identify my son from what i am disclosing i have a different name.
so, my 26 year old son gets the diagnosis ocular melanoma back on june 14th this year with a very bleak outlook.
i walked away from the cult some years ago, however my son stayed in as he was engaged to an uber witness girl.
It never ceases to surprise me that so many people think JW's are mild, harmless people who are just over sincere. People just do not realise the savage truth.
If there were a way of shaming them to themselves it would help, but these close tight family connections like your son has. Phil, make it so difficult.
