  Why is the Society in England so scared of The Data Protection Act.

  the ibsa seems terrifed of this law and all that relates to it.. i have heard that if a subject access request is sent they have a "poop" moment and do all they can to destroy anything.. maybe blondie can shed some light on this as i have heard that they destroyed everything and that when asked they will use every tactic to hide what they can and even tell elders to ignore requests.. i am not sure what they most recent directive is on this in the uk but it seems they are terrified of being caught on this.. .

  Interesting info slidin.

  I had heard that a new batch of record cards had been sent out for all publishers to sign and this would allow them to hold information on people from then on but that if the card was not signed then they could hold nothing without the written consent of the individual.

  Not sure how this would work with someone who was disfellowshipped or da'd. Does that mean that their records would have to be deleted? I remember something about churches being told that once the relationship end between member and church then records must be destroyed.

  I just find it amusing they are so scared!

  very nervous about being here, even though i left years ago.

  i wonder if anyone can give me some advice.

  when i was a jw i was 'counselled' a few times (shortly prior to leaving), though i was never publicly 'reproved' (?

  At last I found an answer to my question of late.

  It was my understanding that they never destroy files relating to you and that the branch due to the data preotection act was telling congregations to strore minimal information and forward other information to them as they are the controllers.

  I am not sure what the current situation is or if further instruction was given.

  I had wondered if they would be willing to break the law by sending information about someone to unlisted "safe countries" as they believe they are a law unto themselves.

  Any recent infor on this please let me know.

  according to the scriptures, the last time he was here, he was already offered all the kingdoms of the world and he didn't take the offer.

  so what changed his mind?.

  The Kingdom of God will be in heaven and the benefits of the Kingdom will be felt on earth.

  When on earth satan tempted Jesus by offering him the kingdoms on the earth but Jesus refused as his Kingdom would be in heaven.

  You are right flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom therefor subjects of the kingdom will be on earth.

  His death would result in him sitting at the right hand of God and he would be put in control of the heavenly kingdom the benefits of which would be felt on earth.

  yup, that's right.. if we apply the principle from god's own law at deuteronomy 22:8, that is.. .

  "when you build a new house, you must build a railing around the edge of its flat roof.

  that way you will not be considered guilty of murder if someone falls from the roof.

  The choice to sin was Adam and Eves and the choice as to whether to give mankind a barrier could have been something Jehovah ignored and left us with nothing.

  However the ransom sacrifice was the "barrier" he gave to all therefore saving those who chose to follow.

  It is exactly that freedom of choice and that freedom of will that gives us the ability to think and act as we please and lets not forget that it was made plain to Adam and Eve, the consequences of their choice to disobey.

  No loving God would ever instill in man a drone attitude to follow as that would not be a loving God.

  And let us not forget the principle of the whole Adam and Eve and sin thing and that is the perfection of God in all aspects would not allow him to simply correct the situation as it would not have answered the challenge of Satan and self determination.

  Don't be angry at God he gave what he gave to bring us back into his love.

  And so no Jehovah is not bloodguilty in anyway.

  Lol Lime, i am not sure about the filing cabinets etc but I just want to find out what I can for him.

  He has to chose what is right for him and for his life but I understand that he has a right to privacy which should not be at the interpretation of people or organisations.

  Wonder who makes all those filing cabinets? hey must be rich by now!

  I could only advise him that trying to withdraw consent would be the best way.

  Wobble it is kind of hard to tell as they have crafty ways around doing things and are willing to use the spiritual warfare idea.

  In this case the person was difellowshipped 17 years ago and wants to return (his right) but feels the society would violate his rights in providing the Elders in the United Stated with information in violation of his rights as a UK Citizen.

  It is my understanding that the brothers would circumvent any legislation and provide the Elders in the US with his persoanl information.

  Not sure how to help him with this or was safeguards there are since withdrawing consent is vague.

  Has anyone here discovered any violations of the DPA? I am interested in knowing if a simple notice of "no conesent" to sharing or holding information is enough for the BOE and the Society to not forward information and or discuss information.

  Have they violated the sending of information to non EU countries and has anyone positively sued them for the violation?
