my uncle was rushed to the hospital last tuesday with severe stomach pain.
(he was diagnosed with colon cancer one year ago.
the doctors, family,and my uncle decided against colon surgery.
As far as I am aware they can pray with a disfellowshipped person in the room as is the case when a DF'd is in the KH.
When I was a child my father DA'd and an elder would have a study with the whole family since we were young and he had left the home.
One evening he turned up during the study, the elder closed his book and said a prayer with him in the room and left.
So who ever these elders are they do not know what they are doing, at least the elder in the case with my family stated that my father is "head of the household' (not spiritual) and that prayer is (universal) not restricted to believers as there is no bible restrictions on prayer.
I am guessing that the elders may not have known what they were talking about and even more weird, they have no legal nor civil right to remove anyone from the room. Even if they called the nursing staff they would have been told that his family could stay if there was no request from family that they were not to be there!

one of my friends (non baptized) overheard his father, an elder and cobe talking with two other elders re; "generation" and he openly stated that "the society has stirred a great deal of discontent with this' and that is has "people talking".. apparently on the last co visit the co said the society at one point was inundated with questions regarding it and especially the word 'evidently' and what scriptural "evidence" there was and that the elders were told to "speak kindly" when discussing it and ask them to rely on jehovah to reveal the matter and evidence.. he spoke with this father re the "reaching out" articles and it has been noted by the society that many young men are refusing to take the 'lead' as they are not seeing "joy' in "reaching out" and that the society needs more elders drastically.. i am wondering how long it will be before the society attempts to mark brothers for refusing to accept responsibility or making it an "offence' to not reach out in order to force people to do things in the congregation and when if ever they will change the generation thing.
Cant i get the feeling that is what is happening, one young brother he is aware of was told his privelge of answering was removed two weeks after he was tole he was being considered as MS. The poor kid couldn't as he did not feel right being thought of as a "leader' when he was so young.
I feel sorry for them and the pressure they must feel.

stopped in a local eatery this evening for their famous vegetarian enchilada casserole and there was a man in there, an elder in a local congregation who i was aquatinted with (he did some work for me at my home) and we know his wife.
he was in the same congregation i was in for a time.. i went over to him to say hi and shake his hand and when i reached out he pulled his hand away so i looked over at his partner who was obviously a bible study and reached out to shake his hand and as i did i said to him the reason he wont shake my hand is that hes mad because i dont go to meetings anymore.
i walked away and nothing else was said.. .
HMMMM and here am i thinking that the one perosn who would acknowledge you would be an elder....you know...before a man takes a false step thingy.
He obviously hasn't read his material or he has been told something about you and assumed it to be true.
Sad that an elder would react that way.
i've been in lurkmode lately, but with the news that i heard about don cornelius dying, it had me thinking...as this world goes on, and people are coping with this world...i think a lot jw's are going to realize that the end of the world isnt coming...there gonna become more despert, the realities of having to work, pay off debts, etc.
a lot of jw's are going to realize that no magical sky daddy is come and 'take away there problems' and i think the more that they start to realize this, they get older, and there gonna start hating the reality that they have to face.
i had a good friend who's father-in- law (who was a ministrial servant) who had bipolar disorder, killed himself in his car back in 2007. it was sad.
the real problem is those who act as prophets and try and determine what jesus had no clue about, the end of times.
building hope then crashing it down then building it up is rather like the father who walked out on his kids and promised to return time after time, they tend to lose hope of anything being truthful.
i do not see suicide being the end result but rather a large rebellion or walk out by many.
it was interesting to see on my last visit to my old congregation, zero and i mean zero young people there who were there when i was in. my in laws all out, elders gone, ms gone pioneers off having babies with other peoples wives, nothing.
the governing body are fully aware that they basically shot themselves in the foot with the latest generation mess as too much is being written and elders are constantly trying to justify it along with talks trying to make sense of it.

My question would be this,,,if questioning the GB can grieve the Holy Spirit in a congregation, why does the "double life' people live not grieve it?
Would the fact that "evidently" is used for the "generation" change not grieve the spirit since there is not one single scripture to back it up.
Would the fact that there are hundreds who have sinned (serious) and not confessed not grieve the spirirt. Would the spirit not operate more if a person openly expressed disagreements and resolved them?
Did at any time Jesus ever prevent anyone from asking him questions? Even when asked when the end would be he told the truth, didn' t try and fudge an answer to prove he had the spirit with him, he told the truth.
It is simply a "you could know more than us" mentality that retards the GB and scares them. If they had never mad an error in anything they said then i could understand them being upset with being questioned. To me this is just another control!
so here is something that i have been thinking about.. witnesses are told not to run ahead of jehovah's chariot but to walk behind it waiting for truth to be dispensed.. the new generation thingy mabobber about this generation overlapping the other generation also known in the uk as 'the generation game and the constant trying to explain, is evidence to me that they ran ahead of the chariot.

I thought in states where it was mandantory to report they reported, but then again!
I am not sure how that makes them strong against the witnesses though. Was there something on the news that you heard pertaining to this or an article that said what you mentioned, it would be appreciated if you could post a link as we all like reading these things.
