Ask them "what if people say no to 'the truth' because of the recent court cases/ scandals in the news paper? Now Jehovhah can't judge these people because they have a reason to say it was not a 'righteous' organisation and that its fruits did not appear appealing."

Anyone can google this info now, so we are are talking about most people arent we?

If MOST of the world is apathetic to religion because of how religion behaves, how can god judge a human for being so moral he wants nothing to do with any organised religion!?

Has the Watchtower/JW's contributed or not contributed to the apathy and disgust shown towards religion?

I.e. Child Abuse and its handling of, its money, the rand cam 'error', the UN 'misunderstanding', the Miracle Wheat 'con'.... the Beth Sarim 'bullshit'

P.s. but seriously, this court case negates the whole JW intepretation on the theme of the bible because they are now themselves a NEGATIVE influence on a persons decision about God.

quick build fun

how many of you have ever worked on a quick build?

here's a good one.

i am a professional pencil pusher by nature.....but many years ago i decided i would volunteer at quick builds so i could help "build a house for jehovah".

At 16 I was the 2nd in command of the painters and decorators for very similar reasons to the original post, nobody wanted to do it. When we went to different halls, there was a professional internal decorator on the team but she was a SHE.

By the second build I had accidently given the wrong paint out and told someone to GLOSS a wall.

That took some doing to fix.

"Here I am send me" is just dumb. I got better by the way, the deep end will do that to you. The third build I got to, NO paint materials had been ordered. Being slightly smarter at 17 I got all the old orders out and ordered all the generic items again in the same quantity. I should not have had that much responsibility with peoples donated money.

I often think of those times as the best years of my life, they were. But they were also built on a lie. Ironically lots of organisations and charities build buildings, some in a weekend. I am sure it is a fun and warm experience for them too. I am also sure there are plenty of cock ups.

The last big project I did involved painting a ceiling with gold paint. At this point I was 'in charge' (yuck) of a few people. I thought it would be funny to write my name in gold on the ceiling... there was much hilarity... until people walked in and could read it even after the ceiling had been fully painted.

Good times, good people, good motives, badly wrong.

ok so hear me out.... we get people to build their own 'store' by borrowing money from us, we tell them they have to recruit other customers with all their free time, then we ask for money..... what is the product?..............

our thoughts !.

if only it could be done, it would be the best business in the world, money for thoughts and the customer pays for everything, the literature our thoughts are printed on, the buildings where our thoughts are spoken and the buildings we live in whilst we consider what our thoughts are once a week on a wednesday morning.. just to add incentive, our thoughts are never to be questioned and we are to have the authority of god.. now if only people were susceptible to other peoples thoughts..... hmmm what do people want?.

Buy "Bad Science" by Ben Goldacre

He highlights things that big pharma do that are dodgy, such as testing drugs on African tribes where efficacy would obviously be through the roof in comparison to a western patient with drug tolerances.

Ben is also a doctor so he is balanced. In the uk doctors prescribe 27 drugs every second, it saves lives, all the studies that prove this are available for everyone to look at. Use google scholar if you want to see the evidence. It is compulsory to peform EVIDENCE based medicine today, we dont use drugs that dont save, improve or prevent.

i have the email addresses of friends and family with whom i'd like to share the information out there on the candice conti case and other wt revelations that you never hear about while on the inside.

i don't use the addresses i have for this because i don't want to cause a further rift between myself and what's left of my lifes social and family network.

i don't want them to leave the organization, i just want them to know what's going on behind the scenes so that they know exactly what they are basing their whole life around.. i have often wondered if any on here have ever exchanged email address with one another so that information such as the conti case can be sent sort of anonymously to our "still in" witness friends and family.

Just put something non JW in the title and don't refer to the religion itself...

E.g. Make up a "is the bible relevant in 2012" campaign and highlight several religions but INCLUDE info on the watchtower soc amongst it. This way you will catch their interest without scaring them off.
