Who Made The Code?
by Perry ina few weeks ago, discoveries were made that show that there is another dna code language that rides on top of the already incredibly complex 4-letter code previously discovered.
this newly discovered code apparently regulates how genes work.
as i noted in a previous thread, the amount of data storage available in the dna storage system just the size of a pin-head would filll a stack of books stacked from your driveway to the moon .... 500 times!

JW.org to be banned in Russia
by redvip2000 inmy facebook was "lit up" today with all the out cries about the possibility of the organization's website being banned in russia.. as many of you recall this past august a court in russia banned the website and sought to make accessing the website in russia illegal.
well tomorrow the appeal by the org will be heard in court.
if the appeal is denied, jw.org will no longer be available in that part of the world, causing endless lamentations and cries of "persecution", only to bolster the idea that they are truly hated by the world because they are true christians.

trust me jgnat, he has no concept of what we are on about, he wants to believe DNA is a book of some kind because we have assigned the 5 nucleotides the letters ATCG and U, if we had assigned them dots and dashes, he would be claiming god has sent us a morse code message....
"message begins pause lets all do the conga pause follow me to the pause for effect dance CABBAgE"
Oh dear we seem to have a nonsense deletion mutation!

The fact you don't understand the difference between EVIDENCE produced by the scientific process and personal belief, highlights the futility of talking to you. You called me a materialist, I value the evidence and evidence alone.....telling me people believe in god is nothing but as anecdotal aside to me. They can do science all day and go home and make love to Donkey's, the data they collate in the day still stands, and I for one will say no to El'Burro!
As for the statistics you have provided, this happens to be an area I researched for a paper.
This was the biggest and best study I could find when I did my research 2 years ago.
"According to the poll, just over half of scientists (51%) believe in some form of deity or higher power; specifically, 33% of scientists say they believe in God, while 18% believe in a universal spirit or higher power. By contrast, 95% of Americans believe in some form of deity or higher power"
http://www.pewforum.org/2009/11/05/scientists-and-belief/
As for the survey you quoted from 2005, the writer Elaine Ecklund wrote "Science vs. Religion: What Scientists Really Think" in 2010 breaking up how she came to the conclusion of "two thirds" of scientists believing in god. Take a peak and see what she did....
34% were atheist (12% of which also call themselves spiritual)
30% were agnostic
27% had some belief in God (9% have doubts but affirm their belief, 5% have occasional belief, 8% believe in a higher power that is not a personal God)
9% of scientists said they had no doubt of God's existence.
Recognising the statistical slight of hand she played, she did admit beliving scientists are "a considerably smaller proportion than the approximately 90% in the general American population"
Despite this it means jack shit to me. Pythagoras was still right, despite him and his buddies bowing to Zeus. The fact that only 9% of scientists have no doubt of gods existence it means nothing to me. The evidence they work on day in and out does.
Also, you do realise you can no longer question the motives of science as you believe 2/3rds are believers. Kind of puts you in a difficult position as you have called them liars for 6 pages.....

This is not good, I am for freedom of speech and thought, this wont help either, the JW's have been trained to salivate at persecution by their Pavlovian masters, dangling health cures, a house in paradise and even desd loved ones in fron of them at the ringing bell of 'persecution.
Someone should tell JR Brown that higher education is good for research and tools in life likewise..... Maybe the WT persecution on education is a little unwarranted also.

This is getting ridiculous now.... Pages and pages of christians trying their best to simply not discuss tsunami's, god and morality.
If you dont have the answer, say so or say nothing. Don't rewrite the question and answer it and then claim everyone is being unreasonable for not accepting your version of the question.
The fact they all insist to deviate to analogies and embarassing attempts at algebra is just infuriating.
We are discussing dead children, babies and adults in a natural disaster, in my mind it is disrespectful, dishonest and disingeneous to constantly try to reduce those dead humans to 'sick dogs' or math. We know what you are doing, you are removing emotion and attachment but NO we won't let you, emotion and the value of human life IS THE POINT.
If you can't discuss the issue without deviating, don't bother, there is no logical need to use anything but the actual events to explain away how and why it does not negate a moral god. There is NO NEED to use analogies, math or anything else. EXPLAIN IT IN REAL TERMS, this was not an analogy, real people died in mass numbers. You claim to think god is real, his bible is real. So use this REAL event in your explination as the OP asked. Simple
or give in..... admit that it is contradictory and confusing, even if you chose to remain a believer.

Good work Dismember,
The society LOVE 'persecution' it makes them feel like they matter.
The society hunt down anyone using or copying or showing their material and use lawyers to close those websites, pages, videos down. Knowing this, it is farsical for them to pretend that it is about getting the message across to the world, such as in Russia. It is about getting their agenda achieved. Being noticed, being mentioned, reaffirming their place in the world, it makes the gov body feel like they mean something globally, it makes the JW's feel that something may happen in the next 50 years and it allows , just as abhorrently, Russia to oppress people.
Nobody wins.
As for her ignorant messages and its consequences. The reality is they are insignificant, its like being thrown out of the loony club or the 'we lie to and annoy society club' Don't worry, dont play along.
if she wants to believe that the god of the universe needs to be told that his website is being blocked, then there is enough evidence in that thought alone that this person/belief system has issues! Adding the obvious lie that they are imprisoning visitors ( lie, lie, lie and impossible to uphold technically), they close the site from RU servers, not imprison visitor, but adding the lie is just more of the same old same old....... Bullshit.

So a hedge fund, will take your money and invest it all over the world and make you more money. Even with huge losses of potential profit in a collapse, they still profits.
ao here is an example, I know a hedge fund analyst, he works for a firm, that for a £250 million buy in, you make 40% a year on your money. The percentage is bases on how the shares they are in per month and on average a year, they do 40%.
so if you have big money, you stick it in a hedge fund for ten years and become super rich.
The society had a couple of billion at least, in early 2000's. We know they are classed as 'institutional investors' in the major hedge funds as they pay thousands to send representatives to global hedge fund conferences, e.g. Hedge fund intelligence in London.
Because of compund interest, if they put 250 million in, they make 100 million in year one, so now in year two they have 350 million , again at 40% they now make £140 million in that year so by year three they have half a billion! This is how the 'one percenters' are becoming so filthy rich, it isnt a secret, you just need a huge 'buy in'.
The socirty have long been involved in these now, they also have been selling everything, I have said already, I believe they are selling to have access to the liquid assets, so they can put it all into these funds, to make even more. The more you put in the more that 40% represents. They have just sold nearly 4 billiion pounds woth of property in the last 2 years in new york alone, according to the new york eagle.
I sincerely think that WT will be financial mammoths very soon, already richer than some small countries, they will soon have real financial power and therefore real world power. Just by moving their money around, they could affect economies. I know this sounds very unrealistic, but they were in the top 30 NY corporations 15 years ago, I think they will be heavy hitters very soon.
what they will do with that power, what they will do with their religious responsibilities I have no idea. I believe most of the WT assets have the clause that if the watchtower is to end as a corporation the FDS alone have the right to assign the assets to another business/holder.
I see them slowing down their religious activity hugely and doing massive spending cuts at the expense of their teaching and ministry work. For me the motives have already started to have more of an economical priority than a witnessing one, I think it is the thin edge of the wedge.
They are building a compund in the middle of the countryside, out of the way. That doesn't reassure me about their future motives. Even as an exJW, I would still hate to see them walk away with a financial sack of gold, nonchelant to the interest of their followers. I would rsther people leave feeling spiritually duped, which is regretsble enough, but to be so obviously robbed too, may be too much for many.

Analogies, useful for ....
*Teaching children
*Explanatory slight of hand.....exchanging an illogical scenario for a logical one.
Snare x
Framegrilled, if your point was logical you would not need to evoke sick dogs, simply state your parameters in the topic being discussed, god, the tsunami, death and suffering. We are not children. We will get it. But will your statement seem moral or logical?....lets see.
