It's funny.... Ask a JW if the governing body have ever got anything majorly wrong and they will umm and arr to avoid saying 'yes'. Ask them what they got right and they will umm and arr to avoid saying 'nothing'.
But suggest for a moment that they are hoping on thin air and they get offended...... Mind control at it's best.

The religion has never been true and the elders have never had real authority from god, just a man made dictaitorship.
For as long as elders have destroyed families and lives, there has been no cream and no crop.
An elder that smiles as he disfellowships you or hugs you as he reproves you, is still a human in a position he does not deserve.
An elder has always gained the position, not from bible knowledge or study,mbut by loyalty to the orgsnisation. They are nothing better than mafia footsoldiers.
For those of us with rose tinted glasses of the past, sunny weekends at the assembly and loving elders wanting us to live forever....wake up! Behind the scenes people were still getting stamped on and disfellowshipped. The reason you look back so fondly was because you were immersed in a mind control, brain washed state of mind, everything was candy floss! ......it wasn't! Tne further back in literature you go, the more hurrendous the doctrines were on rape, vaccines, science, medicine, personal sex life, thinking....

They are watching the orgsnisation slow down more than EVER, why would they decide now to speed up their voluntary work? In a recession, tired and poor. Any excuse for a break and they will hop onto it. i would be amazed to hear JW's were more active out of their own assumption about dates.
don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be suprised if some higher up's have fed the idea that this is an important year and some JW's may be responding to that. But I doubt that is a very overt opinion in Watchtower, after all. When 2015 does come around, it is just another dissapointmemt for 7 million people....

when i found out ttatt i realized i'm not special at all.
i'm just one of the other 7 billion human beings who will live and die being nobody, the world will forget about them (and i'm not talking about relatives and friend), they didn't make anything special in their life, they didn't change the course of history, were not famous nor rich, didn't invent facebook, google or anything awesome, didn't have an article published in newscientist, had no imdb profil, not even a wiki page, didn't write a book etc.
No longer just a sheep, the world is yours to mould and change as YOU see fit.... You can do and be anything you want, this is as far from depressong as possible. The problem is, you have yet to realise what is possible in the real world, you are stillbasing your assumptions on a Watchtower perspective of the world.
Think of all the umans that have existed on the earth, going back over 250,000 years.... How do you think they, we,...all got on without being a follower of 8 window cleaners in a Brooklyn factory?

it's a bit challenging to grasp but it's very interesting.
if there is life on this higher dimensions, they could see us yet we would be unable to see them.

Ambition and pride and independent thinking are seen as positive everywhere but Watchtower land.
