Could you 'Wake Up Happy' if you were an active Witness, knowing what you know now? (A 2012 Convention invitation)
by ScenicViewer ina convention invitation.
i came home the other day and found an invitation to the upcoming district convention in my door.
i don't believe these are left in the doors of the general public, so a well-meaning witness must have been thinking of me, even though i have not been to the kh in about 7 years.. the leading question on the front immediately got my attention, and made my jaw drop a bit.. i thought i would ask the forum, .

- Could you 'Wake up happy every morning, with positive thoughts' knowing what you know now about the Watchtower Organization?
Yes. I am very happy that I am no longer a part of that disgusting cult
- What things would prevent that?
Knowing that my wife is very much still in the borg
- Did you ever wake up happy as an active Witness?
Yes.....when I was blissfully ignorant of the the REAL Watchtower organization

by Perry inthe original soft tissues, blood vessels, cells and blood components [shown above] in a supposed 65 million year old t. rex dinosaur published in 2005 shocked the secular community, but not literal bible believers.
the stench of rotting flesh could still be smelled.. the chart below is a list of all kinds of things that are supposed to be hundreds of millions of years old , yet the evidence is consistent with a literal biblical view of only thousands of years old.. .
here's a "still pink" supposed 350 million year old shrimp:.

I think I've come to the conclusion that Perry is really Tim Tebow in clever disguise.

re: JW Study - an update. I've heard back from him!!
by uk_ex_jw infurther to my post the other day re: jw study who had a conversation with me on facebook and started questioning his beliefs, he has now contacted me back....will post the quotes underneath.. his response:.
yes i did tell some brothers how confused i was about the information you sent me, they said does it matter where charles russel is burried, i aggree its abou god not man, and as for peadophillia in past yes it did happen in congregations, but that happens everywhere and they said they did not promote it obviously and that people leave when they done that dark act, they said that the police have been employed in past, there are no more cases i now of, again i dont blame god for this he will sort them out...havent been for a while now , at the end of the day there is lots of stuff on net and as long as i am doing it whole from my heart no one judges me but god, i have so many beautifulll friends in the truth, i believe jehova does have a body of people in the world , you do what you will and all the best i just want to do well and all the religions are in wars and do what they want , i am up for 1 god 1 tounge and not doin waht the rest proclaim to do and be there own gods.... its just that all this came out of nowhere , our chats and was damaging to god , i have no idea what you believe in but your messin with fire if you ask me , dont get lost in apostasy and youtube as its a minefield of miss trust.
thats my view, i hardly know you well at all and you keep contacting me asking what they say etc , i too tired to feel lowe cos you dont really say anything good about god you just seem to want to deter me, not once have you mentioned love peace , jesus , just on about me being mislead, you catch my drift, dont mean to come across rude as i am a happy man , but i get your point how you feel and i have always known fun love great friendships and a relation ship with yaweh, jehova etc so shall we just talk footy and world as its clear you can damage my spiritual health as we not talking about good stuff just jw people are mislead when we should be in union regarding the coming of jesus famines wars, disease im gagging for it to come.. my response:.

"Regarding false prophocies im sure in world war 1 the earth looked like it was the last days , so i prob would have though too, people are always watching and hoping it come soon, so what if got dates wrong the bible says only he knows the hour"
I would respond with......."Exactly.....only the father knows the hour. So why then did Russell and Rutherford try to pin point it? Why did the Awake magazine promise for decades that God's Kingdom would come before those that saw the events of 1914 passed away? You know what the bible says about false prophets. Why should you hold the Watchtower to a different standard than all other prophets? Quote Dueteronomy 18:22. Ask him why God would approve of an organization that has spread falsehoods in His name. So Jehovah's Witnesses don't get involved in war. So Jehovah's Witnesses engage in a massively inefficient door knocking method of preaching. Do these facts somehow cancel out the fact that the Watchtower has falsely prophesied in God's name?

Guns And Self Defense??
by Cold Steel ini know jehovah's witnesses can have firearms for defense, but does the church ever attempt to set guidelines on the use of deadly force?
also, are there jurisdictions in the church where handgun ownership is frowned upon?.
.

To the best of my knowledge....you cannot be DF for owning a hand gun. But you certainly will never have "privleges" and you will be known around the congregation as spiritually weak and rebellious.....which will result in a status of semi-shunning

It must be God's organization because ...
by biometrics inhow many times have you heard a jw say something along the lines of "this must be god's organization because of [insert reason here]".
most of those reasons could equally apply to almost any organization on earth, including secular businesses.. the most recent one i heard was from an elder trying to convince someone why the watchtower is god's organization.
his reason was because "it [the watchtower] wouldn't have lasted this long without god's backing".

Even if you get a witness to focus on the court cases they've lost or the out of court settlements, their argument will then be "these cases were ridiculous.......this is proof that we're being persecuted which in turn is proof that we're the only true religion"

What the Watchtower needs to do to survive.
by jwfacts indrop its teaching on paradise earth.. the primary issue facing the watchtower results from it's teaching that members will never die, but live forever on this earth in paradise.
this teaching is cause of most of the doctrinal failures, and will be its eventual demise.. the promise of never dying is one of the foremost motivations for people that join the religion, and the message of living forever in paradise is compelling.
however, it is also the watchtower's achilles heel, as it forces false predictions of the nearness of the end.

DOC - "The only people who have any concerns about what is going on in WT Land are JWs, EX-JWs, and JW family members affected by it."
That quote reminds me of something. Getting a JW to read about 607 BC is nearly impossible. Know why? Because the only ones that write about it are former witnesses (disfellowshipped) or those that have a vested interest in proving the Watchtower wrong (such ones would be considered to be "critical" of the society). Since JWs avoid apostates, disfellowshipped ones, and all people or literature that is critical of the borg.....they thus prevent themselves from doing any real research on the matter. My wife once told me that she didn't want to read The Gentile Times Reconsidered....but she will read any book that is like it that is written by someone who is not apostate. She simply did not understand that most historians don't write about why 607BC is wrong.....because most historians are completely unaware that there is a group of people that actually believe in 607. 607 is complete inconsequential to them
This is a little off topic but DOC's quote explains very simply why many JWs stay captive. The only ones that can help them (former witnesses and those that aren't afraid to be critical of the society) are the ones they avoid completely.
