Perhaps they have a rationalization in this that they are simply returning to 1st Century conditions in which they had guys like Paul doing the circuits and the GB in Jerusalem ( in their view).

I gotta wonder however - when does this seemingly endless series of cutbacks conclude? If cost and liability are the motivation, then they still have to get C.O.'s off the payroll with some other scheme in mind. It's still a hierarchy with one less layer and I see that as a big potential problem.

If they are downsizing the assemblies/conventions ( as they seem to be, because the friends are broke) then that's one less money maker for them.

I can't imagine why they are so eager to build in upstate NY, given the circumstances. If this keeps up, they will be left with an Organization of 9 million or so that is little more than a largely broke and dependent lump. And with them pushing the "JW.ORG" site, why do they need publishers anyway?

It may get more radical yet.

Southern Indian ocean sounds like Diego Garcia again.

There is a strange story circulating about two Navy Seals loading something on the plane and then suddenly dying of heroin overdoses soon afterward. May be just nonsense but this whole thing has gotten weird.

This thing is turning into a bad movie script with too many sequels.

Over at BusinessInsider, some pilots are disagreeing with the 'best answer/fire' theory. They feel strongly that if that happened, the pilots would be on the horn screaming Mayday.

The story seems to be moving towards Diego Garcia - and that brings up a whole lot of hard questions.

This concerns the fundamental problem with trying to figure out the future of the WTS: being a rational person trying to judge an irrational organization.

Yes, from a marketing perspective emphasizing over 100 years of abject prophetic failure sounds crazy but that's not how the Organization works.
