  US Official Predicts End Of World Power Status

  an alliance could emerge that suddenly upsets the balance of power , making anglo-america number 2. already, the brics nations seem to be moving towards a loose alliance on many issues.

  An alliance could emerge that suddenly upsets the balance of power , making Anglo-America number 2. Already, the BRICS nations seem to be moving towards a loose alliance on many issues. Either way, things are moving in China's direction. Their leader made a public statement about not getting involved in other nations affairs as part of their foreign policy, in contrast with the current world power. This may become increasingly attractive as other nations resent being spied on and told what to do.

  I am interested to see if the US loses its 'sanction' power in practical effect because other nations disagree and circumvent them. The BRICS nations already have two veto votes on the UN Security Council.

  how about the "theocratic ministry school"?.

  the society has to reach back into the ot to justify its assemblies and conventions, as with national holidays in ancient israel.. yet, there is no official modern-day version of this:.

  Depends on how minimalist people wanna be. With no food service at assemblies and no 'goodie-night' at book studies, Witnesses feel a need. Even some CO's know this and HQ has been informed.

  Critical Differences: JW's Today Vs The Past

  jehovah's witnesses have always been a fringe, anti-intellectual movement, almost by definition.

  there is nothing new about faddish health concerns, attitudes that ignore history and science or even beliefs that defy common sense ( false prophecy for what, 130+ years?).

  however, there are two differences with jw's of the past that will prove critical for the survival of the organization today.. 1) poor financial conditions - in the past, it was possible to hold all sorts of nonsensical beliefs and still be a functional member of the human race, generally.

  Yes, it certainly looks that way. Are they experts at spinning decline into looking like progress or are Witnesses just idiots? (oops, I already know the answer to that!)

  Still, I wonder about the GB and other folks at HQ privately thinking, "God, this is some boring $hit" or not bothering to read the magazines (according to some testimony).

  I do recall that Knorr changed convention schedules because afternoons were too damn hot in many areas, He also rejustified marriage in Bethel/ at the top because he had personal lust problems (only really oldtimers would know that).

  So, things can change simply because a few people in power say, "F*** this". You never know.

  i was raised in a jewish community.

  the secular jews greatly outnumbered the orthodox jews.

  like jws they had a tight knit community.

  Well, maybe. Jews have refined that sort of thing into an art - but who knows? Witnesses may be generating a home grown version of it.

  Yes, scheduled, official communal meals - as many churches in Christendom (gasp!) recognize!

  Now, far be it from me to suggest anything that would strengthen this fraud-laden Organization. I still would greatly enjoy seeing a torch-lit mob carrying pitchforks surround WTS HQ and use Mussolini as a model of what to do next (Well, I can dream, can't I?)

  If they made such a change (uh, the food thing, not the lynchings), it would be a vast improvement over the zoned out zombie-cult programming sessions they have now. Throw out most disfellowshippings (like, only if a crime has been committed) and things would be a lot nicer...

  By the way, if the Amish DF' you, you can still eat with everybody but they won't pass you the food. That's where the line is drawn.

  2014: do you see Witnesses ramping up activity? What will the aftermath be in 2015?

  jw's often say they don't serve with any dates in mind.

  but the fact is many of them can't fathom why the end just hasn't come yet.

  since 2014 marks 100 years of invisible rule many witnesses can't help but think this has some special meaning.

  I seem to notice a lot of posters hinting that Witnesses are skipping assemblies. Taken together with the recent changes about Circuit Assemblies, this may bode ill for the organization.

  Well, now we come to the fork in the road, don't we?

  They can accept decay and decline - even with the absolute numbers of publishers growing (and their quality falling). This happens sometimes - where is Ovaltine? Burma Shave? Polaroid? Kodak? They made a few efforts at renewal and that was that.

  They could go 'cultural revolution' as China did! China owes much of its greatness today to a collective reaction to this horrible event. They took their fanatical ideas all the way, nothing held back and experienced such trauma that they changed dramatically and never looked back.

  So far, it looks like they are going the Burma Shave route ("angels who guard you/when you drive/usually retire/at 65 - Burma Shave")

  I can't speak for now. Many years ago, I conversed with Harry Peloyan and he was worried about Armageddon delayed because they had to preach to China.

  It's quite a spectacle, isn't it? It's like the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland who could believe a list of impossible things before breakfast. Somehow, they twist, misquote and deceive but still believe at the end of the day.

  We don't even discuss examples of deliberate, conscious lies. Years ago, the Awake published lots of articles on depression because it was so widespread in the Organization. When this became an embarrassment, what did they do? Tell people that 'JW's are the happiest people on earth!". An obvious reactive lie.
