how is the org really run?
what goes on behind the scenes?.
i just read an older post on this site that was recently bumped (http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/6600/1/don-adams-biography) the post mentioned the adams brothers don, karl, & joel and how influential they are/were at headquarters.
I have to ask, survive as what, exactly?
I have to openly ask the same question I must confront myself - if they became an ordinary burned out Protestant sect, would that be good enough? Do I need revenge to close this avenue of my life? Would I only be satisfied if they collapsed and disappeared?
Things WILL change. Things ARE changing. Maybe it works out for everybody, even idiotic Witlesses. Maybe that's an outworking of compassion.

a lot of us have said that theres been a dumbing down in jw land.
its just not like it used to be especially a few decades ago.
it seems to me that if jw are right and the end of the world is near, the spiritual food should get tastier and more nourishing as time goes on, but it's getting more and more bland and less nourishing.
This thread's essence is not just some apostate complaint - there are many in the organization who have observed this problem and despair about it.
So, they have 8 million-ish Witlesses world-wide ........ now what?
Perhaps the changes we are suddenly seeing represent the WT's answer to that question.

okay, some good takeaway:.
i have never been to a convention quite like this before.
a very friendly vibe all around, lots of banners and posters with sayings like "sending love to all our brothers", "see you in the paradise", "ecuador sends greetings", and "jehovahs-witness.net" (okay, i lied on that last one...).
If these events are so successful, why did they go to one day? As for flags and all the rest, let them become ever more superficial and shatter in a thousand directions.

Can I make it any clearer than that? This agrees with other evidence I recently ran into with regard to the Society's attitude towards small, weak congregations. Got contributions and good numbers? We'll help you. You don't? Well, F**k you.
Things are changing. The sad thing is the obsequious, servile, compliant attitude of Witness Pollyanna's who see love and growth where none exists, as if they were the children of an addicted, uncaring parent.

i was just thinking today of the ramifications for the wt if the government of finland was successful in its case against shunning practices, and eventually this was implemented all around the world.. the question this would raise is do they obey gods commandments or that of mans.
jehovah has implemented a scriptural policy through the fds of disfellowshipping.
it's a loving provision that helps the wrong doer see the errors of his ways and draws him back to jehovah.
I don't think df'ing is needed for the maintenance of the organization. They could get by just fine without it.
I'm talking about official df'ing - Witnesses are eager shunners otherwise.
Their maintenance of df'ing results in horrific press as testimony about sexual acts being luridly examined by vile elders gets exposed.
Further, df'ing or the threat of being df'd is being used to conceal hard crimes, as with getting people to shut up about child molestation.
Figure out a way to get df'ing to interfere with cash flow and you might be surprized at what happens.

The US isn't going to collapse or disappear but neither will it continue as the dominant world power much longer.
Every week, I run across some evidence that the situation is shifting rapidly.
I talked with some superloyal Witnesses recently and it's sad.....truly sad. They seem to be doubling down on their fantasies, regardless of emerging facts or changes.
