Saving them for what?
by Ozzygal ini find myself lacking in zeal in the door-to-door work.
i have this hidden feeling that these worldly people are better off to face jah's judgement at armageddon with their ignorance intact, rather than to bring them into our fold to struggle daily for worthiness and perhaps be set up for failure.
does anyone else ever think this way?

Good point Redhorsewoman. I was always wondering how can love be an law.
Like the husband says, I have to love my wife, cause its gods law.
Or in the meeting, I have to love all the brothers, in order to gods comittment.
But the problem is, that love is fake. The real love comes from the heart and not the brain. And as long as every fellow brother is kind of a spy, how can real love develop? When you have to be scared to really say, what you feel, how can you ever have a deep relationship to another?
JW is a brain religion, not a heart religion. Knowledge comes befor feelings!
Shure as you mentioned, there are exceptions, but in general it is quite cold among brothers!! -

by Frenchy ini suppose we all think of ourselves as unique and we are in so many ways.
what i fail to realize, i guess, is that we are far more alike than unique.
every now and then i will reveal some little fear or quirk or dream that i have only to find out that someone else has experienced the same thing!

I understand your situation. Even for me as an "normal" puphlisher its difficult to preach, pray or to answer in the same way than than all the other witness. Fortunately, I don't have to teach from the stage.
You feel like a teacher, which has to teach the kids something you don't believe yourself!
But be shure, you're not the only one in that situation. But how do we know, if everybody keep his doubts for himself?
Only God can see into your heard and knows what person you really are. -

I'm from Switzerland. My wife is asian and we have a cute little daughter.
We are sourrounded with mountains and enjoy skiing and hiking. No pets, but a lot of animals around the house.
My wife and me are witnesses for years, but more a "neutral witness" since we know some facts about the WTS.
I enjoy the freedom of writing in the internet and I'm glad to have such forums like this one.

yes, the society gonna face a hart time in the future!
The tendency for the future is:
more indifferent, less preaching, less meetings, more questions, everywhere decreasing numbers....
But as we know, the society has an excuse for both cases, wheter the numbers are going up or down.
How many brothers are just doing the minimum not to be df, in order to be togehter with family?
Young brothers are starting to plan more for the future, school, job and family. I can see even a "babyboom" in my area...
The fds try hard to have new peak numbers with articels like: "make the april to your best month ever!". But it won't work...
After you know the "truth about the truth", the motivation is gone. As I sad before, some are just attending for familiy reasons or in hope of changes in the future. But the exodus will go on ... -

from time to time (in last sundays wt lesson for example) i read in the magazines or hear brothers say this in their talks.
(with some variation) arent we grateful that jehovah has waited this long before loosing armageddon on mankind?

Waiting: In 3th world countries some brothers had difficults to buy the literature since they have just a little money for daily use. I know that from my own experience in Thailand. It was a lot of money for this poor people and they got only a small part back when placing the literature from house to house. As far as I know, the donation "thing" is set up uniformly worldwide from this year on.
Redhorsewomen: Yes, a lot of decisions, which the WTS make, are for avoiding to pay tax. They use every trick to do that. For this reason they even compomise as seen in Bulgaria with the blood policy.

to make somebody feel guilty about doing not enough is a tool of the WTS to keep the work running. But think careful about:
Do you really think Jehovah wants us to burn out? Do you think the first christians count the hours when they went preaching?
Aniway, the motivation to preach should be love and not a guilty feeling!!
We as witness have to learn to stop feeling guilty al the time, it makes a lot of brothers sick and depressed, because nowbody is able to reach all the targets which the society set for us.
So, slow down, enjoy your family, which is a gift from Jehovah and don't set yourself too much under pressure!

you won't find the news about donation in the WT literature. Since there was no unity in that point, the society doesn't like to let the flock know about..
I know it from H2O Forum. Australia planned to have a new tax from this year on. Since the WTS doesn't like to pay tax at all, they changed the donation system too. The same time it was changed worldwide, since some 3th world counties still had to pay for the literature.
But dear waiting, don't forget to pay your tax on time :::))))

looks like you are in a difficult situation.
My advise for you is:
Don't listen to anybody else for advice. Sit together with your familie and talk openly about everybody needs. Why don't you spend more time with you're three kids? Why do you risk to destroy your family but help others? Isn't it a biblical advise to look first for your family and then to others?
If you don't change, you'll look back in some years and feel regret for not enjoing your family when they were young.
Sorry for my poor english.
