However, it is in the CD
Curious here, I wonder why they dropped it from the reprinted volume but left it in the CD. Any ideas?
i've heard posters say that the wt sometimes changes original publications when they reprint or add them to the cd.
i guess to cover their tracks or something.
can anyone give me specific examples of this happening?

@ New Chapter
TD has it exactly right. The upper part of the page is blank. The very light text you see is showing through from the opposite side of the page.
When the Theocratic War Stratgey remarks were dropped, they were not replaced with anything.
australia, breaking news: police launch investigation into the rape and molestation of a number of children with the traralgon congregation of jehovah's witnesses.
jw news can report that victoria police have launched an investigation into the rape and molestation of a number of children within the traralgon congregation of jehovah's witnesses over the past two years.
according to initial reports,... the body of elders were strictly ordered by the watchtower bible and tract society of australia to cover-up the multiple rapes of a number of children within the traralgon congregation allegedly committed by a fellow member of the jehovah's witness religion.
@ I_falcon,
In your remarks to metatron you said,
Yes it is corrupt, of course, I agree on that.
Am I reading you right, yre you agreeing that the Watchtower is corrupt in it's handling of the child molestation issues? If so, you must also be agreeing that the 'spiritual paradise' that the Watchtower claims to have isn't real.

- Theocratic War Strategy (says it's ok to lie under certain circumstances)
1957 Watchtower Bound Volume. The original volume (red edging) encouraged using the Theocratic Wat Strategy in field service. These remarks were dropped from the latest reprint of that volume (white edging). See Scans below.
- The Harp of God (book)
The 1921 edition was subtitled "Proof Conclusive That Millions Now Living Will Never Die." Later editions replaced that subtitle with "The Harmony of the Ten Primary Bible Teachings."
so what do you think?.

...she was still scared even though she learned the truth about the woods. This may well be compared to how difficult it is for Witnesses to shake free their feelings of guilt and paranoia even when they learn the real truth.
JWs are not alone in the fear and paranoia they experience during the exiting process. Almost anyone leaving a cult religious group of any brand will go through a similar experience. I believe groups like this are designed that way by the leadership as a deterrent against leaving.
Even though they deny being a cult, I am learning there are many similarities between JWs and hard-core cults.

Cedars,
Hm, I guess the analogy breaks down somewhat in certain areas. However, even though she was blind, she was one of the most farsighted and courageous ones in the village, so that her handicap didn't prevent her from doing what needed to be done.
Actually I didn't mean it to sound like the analogy was breaking down because she was blind. I was thinking of how representative she is of most of JWs. In a sense they too are blind because they see only what they are told to see, and allowed to see anything else. In the movie the blind girl was driven by a purpose, getting the medicine. The JWs who care, who are driven, who mentally see a larger purpose than blindly following thei leaders (GB) will find a way out despite the restrictions.
reading idly through this magazine , i read the study article "rejoicing in our hope" which discusses the two "hopes" according to the wtbts ie heaven & earth.. a couple of points were of interest:.
(1) absolutely no mention at all of the 144,000 or rev 14. usually an article like this would be filled with references , but it isn't even mentioned.
it does discuss the "limited number" , but only in contrast with the "no man can number" great crowd.. (2) a much more laid back attitude towards the two hopes.
If they get too many partakers, you may be on to something.
They've already got too many partakers.
(W 1-15-2000 p13 “Six convincing lines of evidence that we are in the last days”)
… Sixth, the number of genuine anointed disciples of Christ is dwindling, though some will evidently still be on earth when the great tribulation begins. Most of the remnant are quite elderly, and over the years the number of those who are truly anointed has been getting smaller.”
That was said in the year 2000.
Partakers in 2000......8,661
Partakers in 2011....11,824
If the number of dwindling partakers proved we are in the last days, what does an increasing number of partakers prove?

Another analogous situation ...is that somebody gets wounded, and the only way to save him is to leave the perceived safety of the village to get medicines from the "towns". Perhaps a metaphor for the need to abandon the ridiculous stance on blood transfusions?
It just occurred to me that the first one to make it out of the village and into the free world....was blind! There's a symbolism for you.

As I recall from seeing the movie years ago, the monsters that lived in the woods did not exist. When the monsters were seen, they were village elders dressed in monster suits. They did it to keep the villagers frightened so they would not dare venture beyond the village boundries and into the woods. There was no outside world. The only real world to them was their small, secluded community of people.
Yes, I can see definite similarities to the way the Watchtower demonizes the internet and the outside world to keep it's followers secluded. JWs are frightened. When an internet experience is related in a magazine or other publication, it is aways a hand picked, negative experience designed to keep the loyal followers frightened in.
Only the few who are courageous enough to venture beyond the boundries discover the real truth. Of course when a few discover there is no real harm out there, and that they have been controlled by manipulation, it is inevitable that more will follow. This is the struggle the Watchtower now faces.

I_falcon said,
99% of people that go to KH's are not pedophiles!
That leaves 1% who are. Appriximately 1 for every congregation. That is a horrible statistic.
Actually I doubt there are that many, but that isn't the point. The point is the way the Society covers up the problem, pushing the victims into the background, neglecting their needs, while trying to maintain the good, clean public image of an organization that is enjoying a 'Spiritual Paradise', when in reality it is no different from many other religious groups.
