these writers consistently attack Jehovah’s Witnesses and actively seek anything that could possibly be used to discredit them - including many things published more than 100 years ago!

...their own utterences by the "modern day prophet" have an expiry date of less than 100 years.

While they complain about people searching into their own past, Jehovah's Witnesses themselves will delve many hundreds of years, even thousands of years, into the past of other religous grops to discredit them. For example the Catholic Church's crusades and inquisitions, even though no longer practiced, and long since apologized for, are used to discredit the RCC.

This another example of Watchtower's double standards

Generation - one more time

sorry guys.

i know i have brought this up before (a couple years ago), but my mother and i were talking (she is a ultra-jw) about the wt's generation, and she told me that the wt has never come out and said they took back the generation "timeframe" from 1914. she said they only changed who it was referring to - but nothing has changed on the fact within a generation from 1914 the end has to come.

well, i went back to the 1995 article, and really didnt see where the timeframe was explicitly changed.

As a side point, notice that the first scan says it is "the Creator's promise" that "a peaceful and secure new world" would be here "before the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away."

The Creator never made such a promise. It was Jehovah's Witnesses who made that promise, but tried to make it look like it came from God. Often JWs will say, 'but we never said it in God's name' in an attempt to sneak away from the 'flase prophet' label. However, claiming that it was "the Creator's promise" makes it "in God's name."

All those olive trees and palm trees that Judge Rutherford planted at Beth-Sarim, to make King David feel right at home, worked!

What an insightful man the Judge was...or still is...he got resurrected didn't he...I think he's around here somewhere. Probably out joy riding in the King's Cadillac.

Trthskr and Mankkeli. They both claimed to not be JWs in their early posts, then proceeded to support the WTS in every way imaginable.

Trthskr, your "WTS is successful" posts have been unsuccessful in defending the WTS. Your post yesterday regarding the UN showed you are not familiar with the facts, nor do you appear to care.

I have to agree, there is a striking resemblence between you and Mankkeli.

People DIE for their Watchtower beliefs, yet their own leaders HAVE NO INTEGRITY and will sell out their beliefs for a LIBRARY CARD.

i'm sure we're all familiar with the crazy excuse that the watch tower society leadership came up with to justify their nine year period as a un ngo (non governmental organization).

amazingly, this seems to make perfect sense with watch tower apologists, who don't stop for a moment to ponder the following:.

you don't need to be a un ngo to use the un libraryif it was so innocent for them to hold un ngo status just to use the library, why did they withdraw their status when the issue received media attention?that aside, we are now witnessing the unravelling of fresh scandals to hit the society, most notably:.

ScenicViewer, not if they're just obtaining data for their publications that can't be acquired elsewhere.

That is rationalilzing. There is no data the WTS needs for it's publications that would necessitate violating the Bible guidline to 'quit touching the unclean thing.'

Why would any witness have the need to go to the YMCA when there are gyms and swimming pools all over the place?

More rationalizing. There are also fine libraries all over the place. Especially in New York City!

But you miss the point. It is the principal that counts here, not how many swimming pools there are.

I guess no one viewed that video I found on YT.

I watched all of it. It seemed to be an accurate portrayal of the Watchtower view of the Beasts of Revelation, and most of the pictures looked like they were from the Revelation book.

I guess I don't get your point in posting it. It shows the UN is headed for destruction, along with all the rest of Satan's worldwide political system. Which raises the question, why would the Watchtower want to have anything to do with the UN? The scriptural rule says,

"Therefore get out from among them and separate yourselves, says Jehovah, and quit touching the unclean thing, and I will take you in...says Jehovah the Almighty." (2 Cor 6:17, 18)

As many have mentioned, this is a case of the Watchtower not only violating Bible guidelines, but the very policies it imposes on others as well.

Can you see what an unscriptural double standard that is?
