  here is a short 2-minute video from fox 5 news reviewing the new jw hq in warwick, ny.. the first thing the jw spokesperson says is, “our primary purpose is not to convert, but to give people an opportunity to see what the bible has to say.”.

  next the reporter says, “the new world headquarters, which opened last year, is home to about 800 jehovah's witnesses.”.

  it seems to me that 800 is an extremely low number since the glory days in brooklyn.

  Don't worry Watchtower, people are understanding your religion better than they ever have. As a result people on the inside are leaving and people outside are staying out. Nice job!

  Can you be disfellowshiped for reading other religious materials?

  i am having a conversation with a jw and they say you can not be disfellowshiped for this.

  is this true?

  i thought you can be disfellowshiped for this.

  ...had some free publications posted to me. I asked Don Maclean, one of the branch committee if that was ok, and he said it was fine.

  I wonder how Maclean would square having other religions' publications sent to you with the strong admonition of not accepting other religions' literature at the door. Sometimes people will say 'I'll take your Watchtower if you will take my literature,' and we were always told to never take it.

  Another curious Watchtower double standard?

  spoonfed nomore, has uploaded a video on his youtube site, of exjw activists protesting inside a kingdom hall during this sunday meeting.

  several people speak out.

  if some one can put a link on here that would be awesome, i can’t figure out how to do it with an i phone.

  I'm not a big fan of invading the Kingdom Hall like this but this particular protest was handled better than most I've seen.

  Those were my thoughts exactly.

  If the protesters would have dressed in "meeting clothes" the JW audience would have been more likely to identify and sympathize with them because they appeared to be "one of them" rather than dismiss them as scary apostates.

  Costs Associated with a Regular Size smaller rink Assembly Public Owned

  just came from the one day -- like to call it that cause everything is a changin.... this question would be directed to someone who worked in accounts for an assembly of maybe 1700 in attendance (recently) in a small town, about 2 hours from a main city.

  the accounts report was read and it was a stunner..... i guess i could call the location and see how much it costs to rent this arena for a day and see but i was wondering why would they send a large amount of monies to the wt and say we are short on contribution???.

  anyb ody know - i do know about monies going for child abuse court problems they are having - latest one in canada where there us a class action suit being brought by trey bundy... plus the so called out of court settlements worldwide.. arc, britain, etc...so i know that end of it - just wondering why they are sucking /lying to support the www... .

  Why doesn't the WTBT$ just tell their members that there's a $10 fee to attend?

  It would be the same thing alright, but Watchtower has always made a big deal of the 'Admission is Free, No Collections taken' type of promotion. I believe this goes back to C.T. Russell's time and continues to today. (Below is a typical invitation - from N.H. Knorrs's era.)

  So to get money they have to get sneaky about it and charge a per-publisher fee that average publishers have no idea that they are paying.

  ...hopefully this video shows that it can be done in a peaceful, dignified manner.

  Mission accomplished. That was a pleasure to watch.

  From the video:

  ...aggression and abuse will lead to nothing; only a peaceful spirit and solid arguments can help.

  The woman in the video speaking the above words, and the man next to her, were dignified, calm, and appealing, as were all the participants. What a great example of how this kind of work should be done.

  This is what you have stated: "Watchtower and ask for the list, the database of child molesters they compiled years ago"
  Are you saying that you know that "Watchtower" has a database of child molestors? That is my question to you. Yes or No?
