BTTT for Dagnesy's last post. Good question.
i can recall sometime ago in the 60`s 70`s or theirabouts,it when they first printed their own songbook must have been before the org.copyrighted their material, and the reason they did that is because some brothers were stealing the tunes ?
maybe modifying them and passing them off as their own for commercial gain?
( i know some of you are going to say wtf ?
Disney!...Tell me if I'm wrong!
You're not wrong. There was a mention or two on the first page of this thread regarding Disney songs.
Terry's post 12256 for one.

My apologies for being slightly off topic, but when the latest song book came out a thread appeard here showing the differences in lyrics between the new book and the previous one.
The latest book draws attention away from Jehovah/Jesus/Holy Spirit and directs it more to the Organization. Does anyone know where I can find the thread?

Breakfast of Champions said,
...they are MASTERS of information control.
So true. Regarding the internet, I once heard an elder say,
"Never go on the internet and look up information about Jehovah's Witnesses, because all you will get is pure garbage."
By urging them to stay off the internet, Watchtower says it is protecting JWs. This is complete spin. Rather than protecting them it is controlling them by keeping information from them that is embarrassing to Watchtower.

The guy himself looked guilty...but I could not really see anything to blame the JWs for in this case.
It's true enough that JWs didn't cause this to happen, but I see another point that can be made. JWs set themselves above everyone else and every other religion by making certain claims. For example, "We are God's clean people" and "We enjoy a spiritual paradise that no one else has" and "Our elders are appointed by holy spirit."
This case, and others like it, show that JWs are no different than any one else, regardless of the self-righteous mumbo jumbo they heap upon themselves. To me, that is a significant fact.
sorry if this has already been posted, i enjoyed it, you might want to check it out..
Is there supposed to be a link or a video in the opening post?
once when i was profoundly sad for too many days, my brother in law sent us a mix tape.
he named each song after a person in our family.
this is the one he named heather.
Herb Alpert...Do you know his father immigrated to the US from Russia?
I had no idea. I remember reading there was not one Latino in the Tijuana Brass. As a joke he remarked there were 4 lasagnas, 2 bagels, and an American cheese in the group, Alpert himself being Jewish. This always surprised me since he has a strong Latino look.
Between his musical career and his recording studio (A & M Records), he is one of the most successful musicians in history.

"...this little station played everything from the British Invasion to Motown, Soul, Cross over country and Brazil 66 and Herb Albert and Tijuana Brass."
Herb Alpert...best trumpet sound I've ever heard.
Herb Alpert then,

@ AnnOMaly,
Nice work finding that quote.
A composer may hear a little-known tune. When it later comes to his mind, he might imagine that he composed it.
Right. If anyone else had done that Watchtower would have no problem calling it what it is, plagiarism.
