I had the same problem a few weeks ago. I went and got a stainless steel micro/grill/oven 40% off in the summer sale. What's the US equivalent of Argos? I bet you guys have a store that's bigger & better. Try there.

My 2c/2p...
Be supportive, but at arms length. She needs to face up to her responsibilities so make sure that the family offers her sensible advice in line with how SHE WANTS TO PROCEED, but doesn't do everything for her. She'll have a lot of growing up to do but will likely realise in a year or two that she needs to support her child in the best way she can, by then I'm sure she'll be far more open to encouragement re:college.
Don't give her too much of a hard time over contraception, it'll bring up her defences. Accidents happen to all us. I should know, my daughter was the result of 2 forms of contraception failing, and I was 30 at the time and being sensible.
She may surprise everyone. Some girls have really strong maternal feelings and being a young mum can be the making of them. It isn't all bad. Having youth on her side will help her with the physical aspects of pregnancy, labour and parenting.

OMG! That's so AWESOME. Thanks for sharing.
Please don't hate for this but.........
Here in the UK one of the last of the summer music festivals is Bestival on the Isle of Wight. I went in 2007 and saw every single one of the Beastie Boys's 3 sets and also literally rubbed shoulders with Mike D in the crowd as he walked past me. He said 'Hi!" as he realised I'd recognised him - well it was wasn't exactly difficult seeing as he had his trademark hat on and was accompanied by 2 burly bodyguards to help get him through the crowd!
One for the die hard fans...always makes me chuckle!

I would take those shows with a pinch of salt. Some friends of friends in my hometown managed to get on Jeremy Kyle to air their dirty laundry on national TV about one of them cheating - they'd made the whole thing up to (1.) get on TV because they were unemployed and bored, and (2.) to get a free night away in a hotel!
Best Jerry Springer episode I ever saw was when a girl had gone out with 1 guy who was 1 of a set of twins, then got together with his twin. She'd gotten pregnant and didn't know which one was the father. Turns out the result of the DNA test showed that the twins were identical (they didn't know that, allegedly) so it was impossible to tell who was the baby's father!

I just became a Return Visit (!)
by simon17 inbeen sick all week and for the first time i had jw's visit me since i left (actually the second time, but the first time it was just two people who asked "are you turkish" and left when i said no lol.
very strange).
anyway, since i had no voice and little strength i just let them go through their presentation with a smile, took the mags, and that was it.

Happened to me inadvertantly about 3 years ago. They caught me on my way out to an ante-natal appointment and I opened the door as I was expecting deliveries of baby stuff. Was a very young and very old sister, I felt sorry for them and let them finish their presentation before saying I had to rush out. The older sister came back about 3 times before she caught me in my dressing gown in a grumpy, sleep deprived mood. I may have said not to call ever again (can't remember exactly - new mum-nesia) as I haven't been called on since other than a Memorial invite through the letterbox!

Urine Therapy?
by serenitynow! ini just read this story about a dude that "washes" himself in his urine!
evidently, there is something called urine therapy.
now he's all shocked because he got fired.

Ooh, forgot to add that in Western society we find urine putrid as so many of us are regular coffee drinkers, which of course gives urine a rather unpleasant odour!

Your welcome wasblind. TBH the thought of drinking/washing with urine isn't actually appealing to me, but I guess if I had a badly infected eye and nothing else to hand to treat it, a jellyfish sting, or found myself in a situation where there was no available clean drinking water and my life depended on it, then I probably would use it!

drinking one's urine is not good for you. It is filled with the toxins that the kidneys have filtered out of your blood stream.
My question is , how can expelled waste be good for the body????
would he still use his urine, if he had a urinary infection ??? Ewww
There is normally very little toxic waste in urine. As wontleave already mentioned, the urine of a HEALTHY person is STERILE. Toxic substances are indication of serious disease or infection. So I'm sure that knowing this, that particular guy wouldn't use his urine in the event of a UTI.
Just think, urine is very similar in make-up to amniotic fluid. As babies in your mothers' wombs you urinated into the amniotic fluid and drank that very same fluid. Thus every single person on this planet will have drank their own pee!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urine - I suggest reading this to clear up some of the misconceptions.
