My Mom's reaction to the Dateline show
by Mulan ini posted earlier today that mom thought the show was well done but she thought they made some "cheap shots" too.
tonight, after dinner, i asked her what she thought were the cheap shots.
i could tell she had trouble remembering, but said this: "i am sure there are some cases of molestation, like the ones they discussed on the show, that were handled badly, but there are so many that are handled in the right way.

What would YOU say to this JW about Dateline??
by TheStar inok i visited the about.com forum (christianity - general) to see if anyone there mentioned the dateline story and sure enough there was a mention of it.
a jw replied to it and i couldn't resist but to post a different view of the situation.
she of course replied to me and much of what she said is very distrubing and some of it is out right lies.

The letter referred to "brother against brother", so those
that appeared on the program were and are considered brothers.
Interesting. Therefore it is important that we hear the words

The other one had to do with them showing the pedophiles going out in service. She thought that was staged because they wouldn't let them go with them, with a camera.
from someone who has very deep and close connections to the E.R. case..this was not staged. So unfortunate. -

Barbara Anderson's Role at Bethel Questioned
by Kismet inboth here and in some private correspondence i have received the role of barbara anderson as detailed in the dateline segment has been questioned.. the main reason is that she is a 'she' and not a 'he' and that 'she's' should not have access to confidential records at bethel.. anyone who served at bethel for any length of time discovered that bethel doesn't always work by the same rules as those they issue to the congregation.. i met barbara while she was in the midst of her proclaimer research.
it was likely just another 'branch tour' to her, but i do remember speaking with her and being impressed by the intelligence behind and shine of her eyes.
a couple of items of interest that should help dispell those who doubt the role she had in brooklyn.

Who really is the faithful and discreet slave?
by lv4fer ini was talking to my dad last night and i told him that there is no "organization" that jehovah uses directly.
he quoted this scripture and said "well then who is this talking about" i read the scripture and i have to say i am a bit puzzled.
if it doesn't say what the jw's say (not that i'm saying they are it) then what does this scripture refer to?

Hello there perhaps I can answer one question,
The new understanding as regards to being appointed by Holy Spririt is this...
The are recommended as older men of the congergation by using the
guidlines found in the Bible. The Bible was written by inspired men
who were inspired of Holy spritiy. In this way it can be said that
they are appointed via Holy Spirit. They are not appointed by a spiritual action from Jehovah. Its that simple. -
