at least 90 sands..but you would still be competeing against people with 20+ years..and there are plenty
of them...rememeber .."this generation" has gone on a whole lot longer than they had hoped
any bethelites remember the rite-of-passage for bethelites, bidding on rooms.
for new-boys that basically translated into moving from one 5 x 5 room to the next (unless you started pioneering at the age of 9).
for senior bethelite members, you're basically lickin' your chops because all those years of seniority can be used to obtain a room with a ...............bathroom.

Hi blackman,
I wouldnt exaclty call them a hole in the wall. I have been in a few college dorms
and they were no worse off. Rooms in 107 were probably the worst..def small..but
i woul say they were at least 6 X 10...and you look at some of the Bethel rooms
which were not in the "home"..and those were way cool..especially for the heights.
I spent my entire Bethel life in the projects..or 107....and yes ..we did at times use
the sinks in the rooms as urinal.

mike, i've posted the following pic in other threads, but thought it is such an outstanding example of the true fashion sense of the governing body, that i should post it separately for you to cast your professional eye over it: .
why do you think there is such a difference between what the gb (and their special friends) can wear, and what the rest of the jw mere mortals are authorised to don in their work for the kingdom?edited by - stephanus on 16 september 2002 16:43:28.
You are correct in being offended. Sox should always be worn with dress shoes. Maybe
they are posing for a Holloween picture, and they decided to dress as Crocket and Tubbs--Miami Vice
in Africa. I can bet this guy had stinky feet..Maybe thats why Iman left Africa becuase of all the
stinky feet..

Stephanus,
Your question is certainly one that deserves pondering. Many times you can see
some attempt to pull this look off at district conventions. Maybe they think if they dress
like this others will think they are missionaries..and they will get special attention. I see that
GB Henschel is wearing pants. Perhaps he is trying to hide shortcomings in Africa. Maybe thats why
he is wearing a hat..to draw attention away form certain areas...I could only applaud mr Henschel
if he wore that in the States..and kept it as his signature look. like Pee wee Herman and his suit.
Unfortunately, it looks like Mr. Henshel was a victim of Peer Pressure. This is a prime example
of the gb attitude...what cool at one time...is not cool at another..and all brothers are banned on
thinking its cool again...so this garb is just like smoking...and i think the gb are smoking sometime too
being in the org for a very long time i have seen people do all kinds of things .
one thing that i have never really seen discussed is how common it is for an elder to have a mistress in the background.
oh he may not be actually sleeping with her, but i personally for over 20 years was a second "wife "to an elder.
In my cong. some say that I have a harem..like david ..solomon..and Scott Baio.
However, most woman cling to me because of my fashinista input and advice.
my brother, who is an elder, just called me to see how i was doing.
he doesn't know that i'm not attending the meetings.
i asked him how him & his wife, a pioneer are doing.
hi ,
I am very near to a cong where the one of these scandals has gotten much attetion..being on dateline etc.
I asked some family members and friends how this has affected the door to door work.. They said
that it hasnt affected it one bit..they are getting the same responses as they have always gotten. of
course their are a few orwho have mentioned, but this has had no impact..if fact their has been growth
in this small community
if baptism washes away your sins, as taught by jws, what prevents a disfellowshiped person who has moved to a new area and is not known in that area in attending meetings as an interested person and getting baptised within 6 months.. has anyone ever done that?
if so can the person be disfellowshipped a second time?
what would be his status.
hi all,
actually a more correct teacing of the WTS regarding baptism is that it is a public delclaration
of didcating yourself to God..it has nothing to do with sin..becuase Jesus was baptized and was not sinful
my 3 cents
i have just added an audio tape on mental illness among jehovah's witnesses by jerry bergman.
http://www.jwinfoline.com/page/audio_tapes_of_month.htm.
it is interesting to hear the reasons why jehovah's witnesses have a much higher rate of mental illness than the normal population.
Hi all,
I am pretty critical of the Society myself. But this cat called Jerry Bergan cant be taken seriously,
He certainly has some good points, by listenting to this my scholarly conclusion is that this guy
exaggerates a bit to much and tries to pass it off as input from expert and certain experiences as a quality of
all witnesses..silly....
.
well it's official, well unofficially that is, you can count the time you spend online witnessing.
cyberwitnessing
hi all,
I report at least 9 hours a month from this board alone
