  I collect Marvel Icons Legends 12" action figures. I have more than 25 figures so far. Lately I decided to buy a saxophone and started to practice. I hope it's not too late for a 45-years old man.

  Is the Governing Body EVIL or IGNORANT?

  some of you will have noticed that i've been paying a lot of attention to the governing body recently.

  this is because most jehovah's witnesses venerate them collectively (even if they can't name them individually), and i feel this makes it important to understand this group of men properly and expose their mindset as individuals.

  as the saying goes, i feel it's important to "know your enemy".. i realize it's very convenient to think of the governing body as being "evil" when we consider that they are ultimately responsible for all the damaging jw teachings and beliefs.

  I believe in God and Jesus, but all I know is that I know nothing. I wonder if Jesus paid for our sins nearly 2000 years ago, why God has not yet accredited the payment that His Son did for us? The explanations that He is allowing the repentance of many seems to me illogical. More than 1/4 of a million are born every day and the hundreds of thousands who are born will always be people who are interested in God, which would make this argument in an infinite wait. I still believe in God, but I do not understand Him.

UU., entre ellas algunas confesiones principales luteranas, episcopales, metodistas y bautistas, han decidido ver cómo les va si hacen las colectas eclesiásticas mediante tarjetas de crédito. El experimento, patrocinado por el Concilio Nacional de Iglesias, estimulará a los miembros de las iglesias que en él participen a autorizar el traslado, mediante sus tarjetas de crédito, de una contribución específica a su iglesia mensualmente. La idea, dice un vocero del Concilio, es que "esto suministrará a la iglesia local ingresos regulares, prescindiendo de si la congregación local asista o no," especialmente en ocasiones de menos concurrencia, como en el tiempo de las vacaciones del verano. El informe sobre el experimento dice que los que se unan al programa estarán "dando a los negocios lo que pertenece a los negocios... una ganancia." ¿De qué manera? "Los bancos participantes cobrarán 65 centavos de dólar por transacción, y las compañías de tarjetas de crédito obtendrán fácilmente el 3 por ciento de toda donación."   -Ciertos clérigos de la zona neoyorquina son muy formales en cuanto a este asunto. Envían estados de cuenta mensuales a sus parroquianos recordándoles la cantidad que deben a su iglesia. Y en la prensa se informó que un predicador congregacional de Vermont, ha instalado una máquina para tarjetas de crédito detrás de la puerta del frente para los que prefieran usar este medio para contribuir. Muchísimas iglesias requieren o animan a sus miembros a pagar diezmos, es decir, a dar a su iglesia la décima parte de sus ingresos.

  -¿Qué hay de los testigos cristianos de Jehová? ¿Cuáles de estos métodos usan ellos? En realidad, no usan ninguno de ellos, ni siquiera la práctica tan común de pasar un platillo de colecta. Entonces, ¿cómo consiguen los fondos necesarios para sufragar los gastos en que incurren al llevar a cabo sus actividades religiosas en una escala local, nacional e internacional?

  ? Algunas organizaciones religiosas están yendo a nuevos extremos para adquirir dinero. La Iglesia de la Coronación de la Bendita Virgen María en Búfalo, Nueva York, ahora acepta tarjetas de crédito, no solo donaciones en efectivo. Un miembro del comité de finanzas dijo: "Una iglesia no puede sobrevivir con los donativos de 50 centavos [efectivo]." Las donaciones hechas con tarjetas de crédito son de hasta 30 dólares. Actualmente se cobra la entrada de los visitantes a la Catedral de Salisbury del siglo trece en Londres. Un artículo del Observer de Londres llama a esto "un último esfuerzo para hallar una manera de enfrentarse a la desesperada necesidad de fondos." g74 8/2 pag.29

  In the past they criticized the use of credit cards in some churches and now you can see in the assemblies. I do not be surprised that the WT come with an explanation to justify tithing. Something like that in the past, the tithe was used to support the priesthood and now the anointed will be kings and priests and are in charge of the spiritual paradise we enjoy, we should bring the tithe for their livelihood, as did the people of Jehovah in the past. None of that would surprise me.

  For the earthquake of Haiti my congregation read a letter where the WT requested that donations by check to Haiti NOT specify in the memo that they were to Haiti. The donations were to be made to the WT worlwide work and they would take care of getting to Haiti the necessary. I never gave a penny to them again. . I prefer to donate through charitable organizations since then..

  i collect pretty much any figure in the 3.75 scale.

  my favorites are marvel universe, star wars, indiana jones, and gi joe.

  dc is also coming out with an incredible line pretty soon.
