i'd like to share with you all a personal experience that i had recently.. i had told a freind about the u.n issue (j.w) and she said to let her know when i got my answer from the governing body about why they joined.. she asked about it, i did not bring it up, and i showed her their response (the standard explanation from brooklyn which you have all seen.).
we then got into a very interesting conversation.. she agreed with me that the explanation was very unacceptable, she did not even try to argue it.. she even accepted that it was wrong of the w.t to do this - i was very surprised.
we got into talking about the governing body, and my problems with it, and she surprised me further when she said that she does not believe that the governing body should be followed or held in as high regard as god or jesus.. she believes that god works through this organisation, but thinks that there are so many problems with j.w's never questioning their stands or logic.
Ah, you made the ultimate point though - that she was taught by her mother while growing up to question everything and think for oneself always. THAT is what has made her different.
The typical JW family does not encourage questioning and thinking, only obeying.
Kudos to your friend's mom for making a life saving difference in your friend :)

well i just wanted to share with you that another chapter in my life is done.
i spent my last day sitting in a classroom for my master's degree friday.
i just have my affliations left and then i will be an occupational therapist!

Katie - I'm very glad you posted what you've gone through in the past 24 hours. It is SO important for you to reach out right now. It is easy to see that the pain is overwelming for you.
You need to talk, to cry, to feel that numbness, and yes, the anger. When it comes to saying that you cannot imagine life without her - that is a feeling that isn't a fact. It is the reality of the sudden void in your life speaking, and basically, screaming to be filled. You've been hurled clear of your comfort zone limits, free-falling as it were. The elders et al are salt in an already painful wound.
Keep reaching out Katie. We all care about you so much. Breath by breath, then minute by minute, then step by step and then day by day. You WILL get through this. It won't be easy and it won't be overnight. As your title to this thread said - "I can start getting better..." Even with all the pain you are feeling, you wrote that.

well, mom is now on morphine, so she has a few days at best.
her organs are now faling, heart and lungs are the worst off.
went in the hospital today, laid there next to her for hours.

I suppose those not in the great crowd will go straight to hell without collecting $200 since this rogue planet is supposed to play havoc with the gravitational pull of earth and will cause mass distruction here.
See? Over population solved! And the earth will be made new!
