Does the Issue of Universal Sovereignty make sense to you as an explanation for evil?
by gubberningbody init used to for me, and now it doesn't.. i'm not sure how i was able to accept that argument now that i don't, but perhaps it was connected with my increasing compassion for people and their personal suffering as i've grown older.. now it seems like a sick excuse.
more like a bar-bet with satan and all of creation suffers.. i read paul's words and he has no rejoiner except to say in effect "sucks to be a vessel of wrath...glad i'm not one, but who are you to complain anyway, huh?

it's pretty much stayed there since my relatives came back from the latest convention.
i couldn't bring myself to see the extent to which the society is now trying to claw its way into the lives of teenagers.

Of course, two volumes would bring more money if you have to sell each separatedly? I am not familiar with latest version of that book so I really don't know if you have to "contribute" for each volume.

Why would you even bring that to the attention of a child in the sense they are trying to force?
Kids in that organization are bombarded with so much SEX talk since babies as there is no separation of kids and adults in the meetings where they discuss all kinds of sexual subjects, deviations, positions, masturbation and then they "repress" the kids from doing the things they are teaching them to do --- LOL! Really!!!! In the meetings they talk about sex and how couples should not deny it from each other and they put sex in a pedestal ... no wonders teenagers are running like crazy trying to experience that ... really!

73 year old woman sues estranged children for "parental support"

the lady is 73 years old and is "estranged" from her 4 living children and 10 grandchildren.. i can see the wts glomming on to legal cases like this for its older members who have had to shun their dfd children, and then when the kids want nothing to do with the parents when they fall ill [and the wts tells them to ask those dfd adult children for financial support] they've found a way to punish the dfd kids even further by getting court orders to pay for parental support.
in fact, i've highlighted some parts of the article that have a distinct jw "aroma" to them.. .

I understand the kids thou, they were at the receiving end ... I go through this every month when it is time to send my father money ... I do it out of my Christian duty but I remember the mistreatment, how he kicked me once when I fell and couldn't get up, the spankings with leather belts, ropes, plastic cables that would leave my body in shock and fevers ALL OF THIS WHILE HE WAS A JW and my mom was his cheerleader !!!! Anyway, I pray to God everytime I send the money to erase that bitterness and resentment against them, they were deceived by the WATCHTOWER and their lives was a living HELL inside them perhaps,,, they sacrificed the whole family - 7 children to that stupid organization they wanted to be zealous by beating the hell and the"world "out of us and taking us to "paradise" I guess.

by snakeface inrecently i remembered another example which shows how hateful and unchrist-like the witnesses are brainwashed into being.. a long time ago, when i was a pioneer, i was hanging out with a group of long-time pioneers after the district convention, in the stadium hallway.
some had been pioneering for more than 10 years and therefore were considered to be spiritually mature.
a woman who appeared to be a sister was walking by; she paused and greeted us and said something like, "what a great program that was.
