Is true faith possible?

i still feel the need to worship and the desire for faith, but having been raised as a jw and not knowing anything else, i just feel confused and lost as far as faith goes.

sometimes i think that maybe their isn't a god, i just don't know......

Faith, in the Christian context, will be true to you to the extend you personally believe. If you are referring to the "faith" the bible talks about, Jesus said that faith the size of a mustard seed would move mountains.

"Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ."

Moses, The Law and the Prophets wrote about Jesus, everything in the Holy Scriptures is about Christ. Christ came and He himself deliver the divine message of salvation.

I understand your question and your longing ... and after everything has been said and done by Jesus (as we read in Old Testament and the testimony of his Apostles) the question is DO YOU BELIEVE JESUS? Do you believe the divine message he personally delivered to mankind?

Forget about the Watchtower CORPORATION they do not preach the message that Jesus delivered, and do not take their deception as baseline to discard God and Christ. "Let God be true, and every man a liar."

"No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." Jesus said that he has seen God, the Father - do you believe him?

God is not human, and we try to understand him by human/physical means. He is Spirit and operates in the Spiritual realm. Jesus said we need to be born again. We can receive spiritual life only by being born of the Spirit.

The natural person cannot understand spiritual truth. As Jesus said, unless one is born of the Spirit, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Jesus removes any doubt that being born of the Spirit is the only way to God—the only way to see and enter the kingdom of God. Nothing more is needed. Nothing less will do.

God reveals Himself--and all truth--by the Holy Spirit. Apart from the Holy Spirit, one cannot understand God's truth. God does not favor the intellectual—He reveals Himself to those who seek Him. This is why people who have not received Christ cannot understand the Bible:

John 8:47 "He who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God."

1 Cor 2:14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.
I didn't understand being born again because I thought it was something I'd experience like baptism in water, but one who is born of the Spirit sees the effects of the Spirit without seeing the Spirit Himself.
Mark 4:26,27 And He was saying, "The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil; 27 and he goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows--how, he himself does not know.

I have learned that being a Christian it is not going door to door, or spend hours sittings at meetings and all other religious stuff, it is deeper, supernatural, it is a spiritual, personal relationship with Jesus.

Read the bible again (not the Watchtower version - I don't trust it since reading the 1954 Walsh trial transcript and about the Greber guy) and God will give you the desires of your heart ...

after jesus was resurected in 3 days and nights was he resurected as a man or a angle that looked like a man to humans because i read he went on preaching the good news and healing?

also how long was he here before he returned to jehovah in heaven ?.

Hi Redspider ... something that helps me when I wonder about things about God, Jesus or any other biblical subjects (I am Christian) is to put my question out there in the universe, I ask God or Jesus to let me know the answers, then I stand "still and observe - God talks to us through the still small voice, dreams, bible, other people, in 3's, meaning that the same subject or situation will develop and all of a sudden it will hit you that the universe is trying to tell you something ... the best method for me is to ask God a question or let him know my feelings then pray for guidance and open the bible and let the Holy Spirit work in me. God spoke through "plays" so to say in the past, Jesus used parables, and at least in my personal life I have seen that, some things are not coincidences, you will personally know when the odds of things happening in response to your innermost thoughts are to big, unique to be random ... you have to have FAITH first and Faith is spiritual you don't need to develop human/flesh critical thinking skills ... FAITH is supernatural nothing to do with the physical realm ... by all means develop critical thinking skills to deal with the things of the flesh, earthly stuff but when it comes to God, Jesus, Holy Spirit believe, receive, become!!! Operate in the Spirit.

" from the the watchtower november 1, 2009. it makes the following comment:.

"third, unlike the protestant movement, which has splintered into hundreds of denominations, jehovahs witnesses have maintained a united global brotherhood.".

Is anybody trying to learn the truth of the bible after leaving JW?

The bible says that the Testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy ... it is hard to understand the bible in the flesh, you have to consider it by FAITH ... the bible contains a message that gets activated by the Spirit so to say ... but the Spirit has to live in you first ... the Law, Moses and the Prophets were all about Jesus ... God says that when you look for Him with all your heart you'll find Him ... He will make sure you come to Jesus, Jesus will give you the Comforter, the Spirit, to guide you and what it is written in the bible we'll make sense to you, it will teach you and change you from the inside out ... but if you only want to challenge or find the "truth" (historically) about the bible you will remain in the dark and in the never ending battle/question: Is the bible the word of God? By FAITH, and if you lack faith, ask God to help your unbelief ...but again, you must be truly want to know God for the right reasons, because there is something in you that longs for Him, not everybody has this ...

4 Suicides I Am Aware Of This Year, Why Elders, COs Are Not Competent To Handle These Matters. (Life Or Death, Your Choice!)

i would like to relate with the first suicide that took place this year, this was more than seven months ago.

this person was deeply distraught and was talking about killing themself.

the conduct of this person started to escalate (deep depression with morbid thoughts.

Of course they are not competent ... sorry but in the USA hispanic community for example most Elders are dish washers, janitors, construction workers, mechanics, cooks, "yarderos" meaning gardeners, and come from poor towns in their countries, uneducated families, they are not even street smart since they come from the mountains - trust me I know I have even seen lots of JWs dancing like natives (totally pagan LOL) - anyway, these people donot have the professional, medical, background to recognize mental illness among the flock ... c'mon in our society we even have professionals called"Veterinarians" to take care of farm animals - it seems they get better treatment that a poor sick JW sheep :(

I don't know your experience, but most of the churches I have visited here in Houston the pastor has a college degree, some are psychologist, and have continued education classes and seminars, conferences throughtout the year. After meeting an awesome pastor last week I really really would love to go to a college of biblical studies to obtain a degree as counselor. I was wowed after listening to him talking to married couples, I wanted to cry because so many JWs don't get to listen to a Christian professional give advice on specific subjects. For example I know that my mom and my sisters the only advice they received from Elders when fretting about their husbands was this one ... Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. OR "... each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. 3 The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband - ALL with emphasis on that no matter what the WIFE HAS TO PUT UP - which results in the wife feeling RAPED by her own husband - this is another serious thing going on among hispanic JW wives, a silent killer!

I plan to dedicate a period of fasting and praying for all JWs suffering under that Corporation ...

The PRODUCT they sell through books and magazines I'd say is the "Paradise" that THEY are going to create - don't mind that the Bible says that it is GOD who is going to make the new heavens and new earth.

i was with one of the elders and it was my 'house' to preach.. wished i could vanish from the surface of the earth..

Why are letters from John and Paul included in the Bible?

i don't see much difference between paul writing a letter to the corinthian congregation and the gb writing a letter to the timbucktoo congregation.. is what paul wrote to the ephesians just as fallible and subject to 'new light' as the letters the wts writes to congregations today?.

if a letter from the governing body today which says it's immoral to have an organ transplant can be dead wrong and changed later.

can the letter from paul which says it's wrong to eat blood be dead wrong and subject to change later?.

My question is WHY Paul call himself an APOSTLE? There are only 12 Apostles not 13, and Judas was replaced. I think there is a book challenging the veracity of Paul, can't remember the name now, but I found many facts in the reviews of that book interesting.

Why do we have to 'prove' anything to God. (This point made at assembly today)

the point was made at the assembly today, that we have to 'prove' our love for jehovah to him.

as i sat there, bored, this thought struck me as odd.

since jehovah is supposed to be able to read 'hearts', why do we as humans, have to prove anything to him, since he already knows us down to our kidneys and would know if we loved him or not.
