@N. Drew: If you insist on believing God allowed the angels to take bodies and reproduce with the women (Bible says GOOD not pretty or fair) then you do not believe God is ALWAYS good.

well good in what sense? An apple can be good for food and good looking at the same time right? So from the context of the story, how good do you think the women were. Now if they were good in the sense of service and obedience to God, how did they end up marring angels?

Again, we realize that one of the reasons Eve took of the "tree of good/evil" was because it was pleasing to the eyes and therefore was good. It is in that same manner that the angels saw the beauty of the women to be pleasing to the eyes and therefore took them as wives and had sex with them.

Now tell me, if the women were good (in action and not beauty) as you claim, what reason did those angels have to come and take them as wives. Unless perpahs the angels had a problem with those God fearing women.

Fro where did you get that impression?

Gen 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

How could they have taken them as wives and yet not mate with them?

The spiritual let's say spiritual sons of God led them astray by overpowering them spiritually let's say spiritually

You mean like those potent sex potions? truth be said, i have never come across a sex potion so strong as to cause one to concieve giant babies. I am laughing so hard now.

@Tec: i wasn't implying anyway that Adam did not know of the tree the fruit came from. I only meant that Eve took of it and gave to Adam after she had eaten first. Of course adam knew what he was about to eat.

Nope it is not. Its a reflection of the bible.

Eve wasn't really made from the literal rib of Adam. Ribs move with every breath. That is what it means.

Then adam was not also made literally from the dust of the earth. Its literal as it is written to be, just like the universe and all animals were meant to have been created literally.

@Sab:If we are going to go by bible chronology then Eve is definitly a single person. I dont know but do evolutionalists consider death in relation to evolution, lets say how long does it take for natural selction to kick in taking into factor the death of organisms (which animal lives longest).

Sorry if this is off topic but i have to say this. In the story of Noah we learn that angels mingled themselves with the men(sexual relatiob) and brought about offsprings which were reasonably different considered to be giants. Now those giants were not ur typical special cases of tall men. They were of extreme hieght and size. Now this caused God to flood the entire earth, even with the animals. The missing link here is why would God destroy innocent animals. Has it ever occured to any one that the angels did not only corrupt the seed of men but of animals too? If angels could mate with humans and produce giant offsprings why not animals? couldnt it mean most of the fossils we consider to be millions of years old be pratically of those seed of angels and animals. Surely it can happen with giant animals too if it did with humans.

Now one thing we realise too is God didnt give Noah the mandate to gather animals into the ark. God personally brought the animals to Noah, making sure none of the corrupted breed of animals entered the ark.

@j_wood : It is Jewish myth, pure and simple - a primative attempt to explain mortality.

Its actually not a myth, its as literal as all the other tree He gave them permission to eat of, and i agree that the "tree of life" was meant to give eternal life, it was also to sustain the mortal flesh from corupting or perishing.

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Here we see that after adam & eve had attained the knowledge of good and evil, they would not have begun to die had they got access to the "tree of life"

@Tec: Yeah I was taught that in Sunday school too. But there's no basis for it.

Actually there is

Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

She might not have eaten the fruit straight away when she took it. I suppose that is why the comma(,) was put there to outline her actions as follows. She probably took the fruit, went to her husband before eating it herself and later giving it to here husband.

@N. Drew: Why say that bioflex? I wondered why there were two accounts of man's creation.

I believe it is clear that both accounts of creation covered different aspects, the first covered the creation of the entire universe and everthing that is in(including man). But the second account goes into the specifics of mans creation. If the second account was not written we would never had known that God first created Adam and later created Eve from 1 of his ribs to be his perfect companion.

@Nancy: Account number one has no tree of either life or knowledge. Why? There was no history yet. It isn't rocket science, you know. It is?

I dont think that is how it was. In account number one, they are free to eat from every tree in the garden except the "tree of the knowledge of good and evil"

account number two state after they had eaten of the "good/evil tree" they were barred from eating of the "tree of life"
