Wow...good points. I am contemplating sending that list to my sister, who is still deeply involved with JWs.

JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES WANT IT BOTH WAYS
by Perry inwhen individuals leave the organization for conscience reasons, it is evidence that god is shepherding and protecting the flock by doing a sifting work.
when people leave another christian religion it is evidence that the religion is morally corrupt and unable or unwilling to provide spiritually for their members.
when a christian from another denomination lies, he is acting according to his own disposition being from the father of the lie.

Early Christains did! They were noted for the love they had for others.
Well, the early Christians may have had it right, but I never experienced love from the brothers in any of the congregations I went to. I was held up as a sterling example, and was on the platform at the circuit assemblies 6 times. But in my own congregations, I was an outcast, because as a young teenager, I didn't look pretty enough and have the right clothes. Yeah, some love.

3 minutes and it was over....
by LyinEyes inthis is just a side thought about us disassociating ourselves last nite, it took all of three minutes.. 35 years of my life being a jw, same for wild, 11 yrs of him being an elder and it all came down to two men of the phone to finalize our departure.. what i find strange about this, is that not once did they ask us to reconsider, or if we would think about it for a couple of days and then we could get back with them.
they didnt ask for one more shepherding call, they didnt say goodbye, they didnt say we would be missed.
they were so formal almost like robots with no feeling.

When I was DF'd, they came to see me to formalise it...in other words, get my confession since they only had my ex-husbands suspicions to go on. (He was stalking me.)
Their meeting with me took less than 5 minutes. I rushed them along coz my lover (now husband) was upstairs waiting for me!
But I was still unsure about the beliefs and stuff...I wanted to be with my man, so I didn't care that I was DF'd. But I thought I might go back once we were married. So I wrote a letter to the elders, expressing my doubts about several things, and asking for their help to explain them to me so that I could possibly come back. I said I knew I was in the wrong about living with my lover, and that I wasn't trying to make excuses for it. I was very angry about my father...his elders told him he could remain an elder even though he sexually abused me. I told them that the protection of him was no different than what the Catholics did. I asked for them to reply.
I had to chase them up after months...I got my sister (still a devout JW) to ring them up and find out why they hadn't replied to my letter. They said it was because my letter sounded like I just wanted to pick a fight, so they didn't bother to reply. I told her to tell them that of course I was angry about my dad, but that I genuinely wanted answers to my questions. Almost 1 year later....no reply.

WERE YOU CONSIDERED A GOOD EXAMPLE?
by minimus inhave you ever had to deal with the thought that you really weren't that good of an example?
perhaps, the congregation was encouraged to pioneer or reach out for bethel service or go to seldom worked territory, etc.
and when you applied, you were told that you didn't qualify.

I was considered a very good example, up until I started dating my first husband. One elder even told me, "I'm holding you up as an example for my young daughter. Don't let me down."

friend's encounter with jws,this may interest U.
by badboy in.
my friend was swiddling with his car when he noticed a group of jws going door to door, one of them (a lady) approached him and said they wanted to interest him in the bible etc etc.. he said that jesus christ was the head of his household so he couldn't accept wt publications.. he also said u should pratise your faith or something similiar.. he also made an interesting observation, all the jws were carrying laptop computers!.
the idea, being they could beam images onto your living room wall or insert a cd rom into the laptop to show u things.. my friend believes they r carrying out a test run using laptops in their ministry.. is he right?.

I've been out for nearly 2 years, so there could have been changes, but I don't remember them ever doing that. Either it's a new thing, so they can reference the cd, or he mistook their literature bags (of all different Stoops styles) for laptop cases.

'Allo, Casp. Elder's daughter here. I'm American, but my second husband is an Englishman. We've just moved to France.
My father abused me, and was told he was allowed to stay an elder. He stepped down because I kicked up a fuss.

ELDER'S WIVES AND CHILDREN
by minimus inhave you ever noticed how some elder's families are the worst example in the congregation?
some wives lord it over the rest and think they are special , while some kids get away with all sorts of things because of big daddy.
have you ever had a problem because an elder's family got away with something and you got blamed for it?

I was an elder's daughter. I was expected to be perfect. I got in trouble fairly often. Dating worldly boys a couple of times, lying, then dating someone who was studying, "loose conduct" blah blah blah.
But I saw plenty of other elder's kids/wives who did whatever they wanted. And they definitely thought they were something special. I was never accepted by anyone in any congregation, except for a couple of people. I had no friends, except for one woman older than my mum.

YOU ARE A GOAT!
by professor inwhen i "engaged in the worldwide preaching activity"(tm) i was told i was doing a seperating work (namely seperating the sheep from the goats).
i understand this jw doctrine has changed.
who are the sheep and goats now according to wts and why is field service no longer the seperation work?.

BAAAAAAA!!!!
So glad to know that people are still judging other people. I thought that was up to someone else, but hey, what do I know?
