Is Travelling Good For The Soul?
by Englishman injust a few days now, and her ladyship and i will be off on our travels abroad again.
i've lost count of the number of countries that we have visited, although i do still want to travel to oz at sometime.. as we have got older, and more free, we seem to journey abroad more often.
what i hadn't expected was the effect that travelling to other countries has on one's personality.

My husband and I have travelled (and lived) to many places. I personally feel it is very important. I have learned so much about the world, how it works, and how it thinks, since leaving the US permanently. I feel so much better for it.
Eman...we were in Oz for almost a month. We didn't get to travel around the country (my husband was working), but Melbourne and Sydney were lovely.
After a while, we got sick of travelling. We still like the trips and what we can learn, but we really get tired of restaurant food.

FDS has been tipped off ahead of time?!
by greven in*** w60 7/15 444 staying awake with the "faitful and discreet slave" *** yes, the "faitful and discreet slave" was awake to the coming of 1914. in 1942 the "faitful and discreet slave" guided by unerring spirit made known that the democracies would win world war ii and that there would be a united nations organisation set up.
once again the "faitful and discreet slave" has been tipped off ahead of time.
does anyone have the article this quote is referring to?

Alright, who tipped them off? Hmm? *taps foot* Which one of you is the leak?
I don't remember reading anywhere about them knowing in advance who would win the war. Not that I was alive then, but I don't remember ever hearing about it.

I married a stranger, did you?
by kenpodragon inin my current life i know a lot of people who live together.
some of them might have done this because they do not like marriage, and others have done this as a step towards getting married.
in all, in my post-witness life i find that i have no problem with either view.

I'm so glad to hear that it worked out well for you, kenpodragon.
My first marriage started very similarly to yours. I didn't really know him when we married. I knew there was trouble in the first couple of months. We argued about lots of little things (things we didn't know about each other before we got married because we didn't live with each other), and I found out he wasn't all "sweetness and light" as he appeared before we were married. One year and plenty of emotional abuse later, I divorced him.
I am now remarried to a wonderful man who was never a JW. (He's athiest.) We lived together for a year before we got married. It was perfect for learning all we needed to know about each other. We've never had an argument. We've had disagreements, but never a full-blown argument. We've always been able to just talk to each other about whatever we disagree about, and I've never been so happy in my life.

The first thing I thought was, "How the hell did Diana get into that list?" No one really liked her.
Robbie Williams...now there is a great performer. Only he could redo We are the Champions with any success. Was nice to see Freddie Mercury on that big list as well.

Do you still call on God, by the name Jehovah?
by LyinEyes inthe other night i was upset and decided to pray to god.
i was outside looking at the stars and wondering if i was talking to myself or if he is really out there somewhere.. as i prayed i didnt know who to address, i have said jehovah, jesus, father, who ever is out there please hear me.
i don' t mean to be disrespectful in saying it that way , but just confused.. many of you know we havent been to a meeting in over a year .

I don't pray anymore. Haven't for a couple of years. I'm not sure there is a god up there to pray to, and even when I was a JW, I never felt like anyone was listening. I certainly never got any answers.

by Jesika ini have been searching for a job since march, and finally got one waiting tables at a pool hall.
they fired me today due to "pushing" someone that i asked to excuse me.
