  i need all your book suggestions!.

  i'm planning on immersing myself in many books over the near future and need a list to work through.. soooo what are your suggestions??.

  As mentioned on another thread: "(Buying a lot of) books"; "Christian Book Distributors"

  = "have sales often", "Amazon (online)" = "some under $12 or $8."

  You may want to start by going to "the Half Price Book Store", each one has basic supplies,

  and unique books from local resale stock. A well stocked study for your home could be done for around $550,

  through thriftful spending. An endowed theological library can be arranged at about $1,200.

  Whatever your decisions, start with two books in every pertinent subject matter of your study.

  If you aren't sure, then use a public library, or a "Barns & Noble" to browse topics until your sure

  of the course to take. If your really in uncharted waters, then just focus on one area.

  today i uploaded a new article highlighting the method of choice by watchtowers current governing body for dealing with problematic details haunting its doctrines.

  moving forward the current governing body will expand on this theme.

  It's like Billy said: "They encourage the friends to research Watchtower

  publications for guiding principles and then make up your own mind."

  Just a few years ago, their traveling representative's were sad that speaking at the doors have

  become more difficult for the JW's. "You use to be able to have long doctrinal conversations with

  the householders, now you have to teach them how to live first!" It sounds like the GB now wants

  to be as tight lipped as a politician who has a legal background. They wont take the responsibility

  to help people, but they want all of the privileges of anointment!

  what, exactly, did we witness?

  i mean, in a passive sense of the word, to witness means that we saw something or heard something.

  in an active sense, we share our experience with somebody who wasn't there.. ok, "witnessing for god's kingdom" means that we somehow know something about it that needs to be shared with others.

  we saw something and now we are testifying about it; but i don't seem to be able to recall what it was that i saw.

  Rutherford's misapplication of Isaiah added another layer of lies to their beliefs.

  The WT&BTS's followers of today don't see any of Ye-hu'wah's signs.

  After a century they don't know the father's name or how to pronounce it.

  Service Meeting says "Leave Everything"

  this has probably been addressed, but i'm in a rush and wanted to get this out asap while it's fresh and before i have to run off again.

  and i don't have the km with me to note the exact instructions and passages discussed, anyway.... last week in the service meeting, there was an unusual part that i wish i would have been prepared for.

  the only material was to read a couple passages from luke and discuss how they affect our attitude toward our ministry.

  Heres a great question about "belongings" for the OKM part:

  "How should you "leave everything" in pursuant of Jehovah's interests" (WT's will)?

  A) Sell everything and keep only the bare essentials,

  B) Use it to take care of your family's need,

  C) Give it to those needy in the congregation, or

  D) Donate the majority of your proceeds to GB in care of "CCJW."

  what an unbelievably pointless, soulless and demeaning spectacle the assemblies are.

  the three days were a blur of monotanous droning and brainwashing.

  our dc coming up this weekend, i hated them and the only thing that kept me going ,was the reward of booze at the end of each day.my then wife,zelous judgemental pioneer, you know the type,not only droned on about my drinking, but about everyones drinking, a real barrel of laughs not.

  anyway, one year we went to another dc, in newcastle, all seemed to be going well, until lunch.we went over to a hotel for lunch,i ordered my fresh orange and food, a few minutes later, the local jw,s arrived for lunch, they had all pr-ordered drinks,alcoholic drinks, and not one drink but many !!!

  they were buisy getting boozed up for the afternoon session,way to go, i was about to join them, when my wife told me " dont even think about it ", anyway she was outraged, but there they were ,with thier little convention badges, men and women, young and old, getting merry, they dont even do that here in scotland, !!!.

  This thread has some really funny "experience's" from our times in the WT culture:

  "(With) Energy/Alcoholic beverages your really buzzed but fully "aware" of the program."

  "(We'd) bring coffee with kalua... (for the DC) tasted good."

  "(One bro. I knew) always had a box of beer in his car for the conventions."

  "(Just) having to attend DC[']s these days is enough to drive almost anyone to drink."

  From our comments it's clear that it wasn't always "the world" that had a bad effect on us!

  i've just returned from the sunday meeting and visits to the homes of those who missed the uplifting talk and wt study this morning (i'm trying to be positive).

  Dealing with "sad souls" at the KH is an ever changing minefield, fount with many dangers.

  First; because of the unique characteristics of each Congo. and it's effects as a whole,

  Second; the personality type/position of authority/goals of individuals helping combination, an

  Third; the person being helped, with their; needs, beliefs, and current state of mind interplay.

  The possible outcomes are staggering, even if you've known these ones for years or for life.

  PS: So if your not a certified biblical counselor, or get it wrong; every one gets hurt!

  "At Home" 'worship': w/payer, reading, and study; many translations and books.

  Using instrumental music before and after "Lords Evening Meal" talk w/extended family.

  Similar to the disciples of Y'suah, that's based on the patriarchal's headship; not religion's.

  No priests, elders or "fathers"; not a governmentally registered org, and no money involved.

  Perversion of Baptismal Vows

  an appendix in the book contains some 120 questions along with hundreds of scriptural "proof texts" that the proselyte is then expected to study.

  12 jesus commanded his followers to baptize new disciples in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit.

  Baptism should be about changing your life for God, no longer practicing the things of the world.

  The WT&BTS's baptism requires that it's followers retain the worldly practice of obeying men.

  First century worshipers of Jesus father, were known as "the way/path" to the true God.

  "Visible organization"; is a term that the WT created to counter-balance it's not being infallible.

  As noted in other posts, biblical baptism is in the Father, son, and God's spirit; not a "religion" or corp.

  The true path, and baptism is not clear to most of mankind; but before the end comes, it will.

  Sorry GB of the WT, your not it! Keep on "ridding the Scarlet Colored Wild Beast." And Babel on!
