mom gave a lot of money to the watchtower bible and tract society over her lifetime- (6 figures).

after she ran low on funds she made a 5 figure "conditional loan" to wtb&ts.

the F.B.I. has offices in the major cities for dealing with all types of crime and abuse.

These include a senior's department that handles local fraud,

and the manipulation of the vulnerable ones.

Clergy/laity distinction

for years the wt has bragged that there is no clery/laity distinction among jehovah's witnesses.

now this attorney refers to kendrick as just a "rank and file"--he's not a pastor or elder--like that should make a difference?.

Yes there is:

1) When I was a ministerial servant, two elders told me to use the word "deacon"

when listing their names for character references on my secular resume.

2) I think that those in the audience have been refereed to as "congregants"

from the platform in a few third-person sentences.

i was never a jw.

i was a member of the church of christ.

i didn't jump from christian to non-believer, but rather went through a transition period, and i'd guess that all of you did the same,... changing beliefs bit by bit until you believe what you do now.. when i first realized that there were logic problems in the bible i started to find excuses for those problems.

as one of the rank and file at that company i can say even my direct manager has no clue what my job is like on a day to day basis.

wha happened? is right that the oldies in NY are unable to keep pace with the advancing techno info.

When those that advise them of it gets lost in translation, their responses have a broad-range effect.

This in turn; comes off as overbearing and at times, intrusive at best for die hard born-ins or converts.

So the question at this point is: "When will the R&F get a clue that the WT's GB isn't the one in the Bible?"

Shunning ... when it's Convenient

i have a lifelong buddy (g) who is now df'd ....doing great and happy.

he has a nice boat.

a while back he gets a call from a very well known elder who, of course, shuns him.. elder: "hi g. i know this is a little strange, but i don't know who else to call".

Right guys; and the Wt has been teaching since the early ninety's to write agreements.

So the jw's have learned nothing all this time, nor respect those who lend to them!

No wonder the GB keeps preaching this; it's their own people that are crooks.

They have the nerve to talk badly about our relatives for doing this!

The next time a jw asks for money maybe we should tell them what their GB says.

Give all you have to the WT's "kingdom", and pray to the Father for all things back!

Very true diamondiiz, that the GB "hears" how they effect the r&f,

but are in denial and do not respond responsibly.

As for business training; I've found a college book at a garage sale,

and it shows how workers are changed by being promoted.

This information detains the negative effects on people used by management.

Over the decades, our family has meet many COs and

their the "representatives of the faithful and discreet slave!"

Some have been admirable on the surface,

but some of the more recent COs are paranoid and suspicious.

You get what you put into something.

In the corporate office a freaked-out supervisor can do a lot of damage to the workers,

since head quarters have a warped view of the little guys;

as based on the insane opinion of one supervisor.

to make attendance at my second district convention "mentally out" both a little more bearable and meaningful, i decided to take some notes of key points as if i were an outsider studying the thought reform methods of jehovah's witnesses.

at first, i was only going to share these notes with my therapist, but inspired by the "parsing the watchtower double-speak" thread, i figured i would share my amateur analysis with everyone.
