  What's The First "Worldly" Thing You Did When You Exited The Cult?

  when you finally and officially exited the cult, whether it be by disfellowshipping, disassociating or fading - what was the first things you did that are considered "worldly"?.

  for me, it was like crash landing on another planet that looked like earth but was completely different to the earth i knew.

  i wanted to learn everything that i thought i already knew.. first things i did:.

  I went to a biker bar with a disfellowhipped frend and her Harley riding brother and played pool.

  Such nice people and an easy going group.

  The End is near!..for my great, great,great grandfather...

  so it occurred to me how crazy the wts is and has been.. if i am 25 years old and my parents had me when they were 25, my grandparents were 25 when they had my parents, and their parents were 25 and so on and we were witnesses, what would we think?.

  my point?.

  my great, great, great grandparents were around 25 years old when the judge was promoting the end of times in the 1870s.

  I get the intent you are stating TTWSFY.

  You raise a good question as to what we tell our own young people.

  I guess we can learn from the past and at the very least not repeat the mistakes of our loved ones who went before us.

  i was 19 and being considered for ms. i went out of town to see my jw girlfriend during co visit and he was so butthurt he decided i wasn't ready!.

  i thought jehovah decided?.

  wow DwainBowman and millie210 I didn't know that the watchtower could be coercive at such a strong level. I'm not even being sarcastic here. I just didn't know they'd go that far.
  I wouldnt have thought so either.....at one time - in the past.

  Now when I read about the California Halls closing down as well as others in various areas combined with closing branches and the Bethelites that worked in them being sent home.....

  its stunning quite frankly.

  Did your congregation rehearse service meeting parts?

  i was just thinking back to some parts i conducted.

  when other publishers were involved in the part, its success often depended on how well rehearsed the participants were.

  timing, proper interplay of dialogue, dramatic impact, etc.. as the one giving the part or as one drafted to do a demo, did your elders require rehearsals?.

  i may not have put this in the correct spot, but i do think it's scandalous the way time gets counted now.

  i've seen a cart at the edge of our farmer's market, never anyone close enough to talk.

  yesterday was a drizzly day and there were two carts set up, covered in plastic, "witnessing" on their own.

  i checked the boxes with another brother and there was nothing inside.

  no contributions were made that day.

  pure speculation here but i'm wondering if - with the numbers flat-lining - that the gb will stop giving country by country stats, or perhaps at least some of the statistics.. we used to get a monthly stat in the km - then that was "simplified" to "highlights".

  only the "good" stuff.

  then with the new clam workbook, no stats at all.. i wonder if the yearbook will soon only contain "positive" spun stats.
