"Go, my people, enter your inner rooms..."
by Smiles inisaiah 26:20 is now being used in private discussions among upper echelons of watch tower elites as a premise to infer covid19 pandemic related protocols are preparing the jw masses for that great overdue end-time deliverance.. "go, my people, enter your inner rooms, and shut your doors behind you.
hide yourself for a brief moment until the wrath has passed by.
" - isaiah 26:20. if the hype and fanaticism produce more failed expectations, watch tower may experience a 1975-like membership disaster.

Oz starting to shut down
by joey jojo inaustralia has closed gyms, churches, restaurants, pubs (oh no), beaches.
most state borders are now closed.

I wish the states in the US would close their borders to non-essentials.
Instead, we have college kids flooding down south for spring break from college and then they will disperse from that state to wherever in the US they want to go.

Last night's local needs
by Fadeaway1962 inthe memorial each family to have wine and unleavened bread to pass around (isolated bro who's a recovering alcoholic).
limit watching the news regarding the virus look on jw.org and the gb will keep us informed (they know better than medical professionals).
ministry suspended but use any opportunity to speak to people and give them a jw.org card(the virus still active on card).

That is so ridiculous.
Going out to buy wine and flour will put some at risk while exposing others who may have it and be asymptomatic.

How Will the Quarantined Dubbies React When the "All Clear" Sounds?
by Room 215 inseriously, i can't help wondering whether their hiatus from meetings and service will alter their post-covid-19 lifestyle once they experience the freedom of life in the absence of the hamster wheel?.

I think this is a huge risk for the leadership to take.
Donations will go down. People are anxious but in the midst of their anxiety, their brain will still record how nice it was to not maintain such a high level of spiritual activity.
If they use their TVs and screens they have installed in the Halls and try to stream info, some folks are going to want them to just move in that direction in the future anyhow. The Mormons already have been doing that for years with their General Assembly (similar to the district convention).
One problem is the Mormons impose a tithe and JWs rely on people using their donation boxed after they have hinted the whole meeting that you should.
So that part could be hard for them to work around.

Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread
by Simon inthis topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.
latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.
the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

“I’m young and healthy so coronavirus won’t affect me” (why we need to stop this disease at ALL costs!)
by slimboyfat ineven if you are young and heathy there are very good reasons to fear this disease and take drastic actions to avoid it individually, and halt it together as communities.
not only would it be traumatic as a society to lose so many old and unwell family members and friends, but survivors of the disease may suffer significant health problems in the future.
survivors of the first sars virus in 2003 have suffered significant lung problems.

The misinformation on this is amazing. Stop panicking. Stop spreading bull shit. LMFAO triple antibiotic nose plugs. What a fucking joke. This is just one bull shit thing of a lot I read above. Antibiotics do not now nor ever have been something to treat a virus.
The poster is correct that it can help. It helps because it is a mechanical barrier between the inner nasal passages and the outside world.
Vicks or essential oils or even butter would do the same. Its not the antibiotic on the cotton ball - its the barrier.
Since you (or the previous poster or myself) dont know everything. Why dont you limit the lmao and show some kindness. Then you could actually be helpful.

A person can get Everclear from a liquor store to use as a sanitizer if need be.
Nice that we have a thread on this. Thanks Simon

Ever notice a lot of JWs don't have pets?
by JimmyYoung ini was told by several elders to not get a dog when i was looking for one in the 80s.
the end was close and we needed to focus on the preaching work.
i know some have pets but a lot don't.

Jws don't view life as being on a continuum. It borders too close to supporting evolution in their minds.
So there are animals - dumb and unreasoning and basically beasts,
And then theres man! Created in Gods image!
I dont think the leadership wants to encourage the flock in finding out how smart and "like us" animals are.
Plus, you need to donate those dollars NOT buy dog biscuits!
