There is a Bernie rally at my school every week and the biggest reason he has most of their vote is because he promises free college and the whole premise of redistribution of wealth sounds good to broke college kids.

On the flip side my BF is very wealthy, def in the top 5% and to him and his family a Bernie win is going to be a big loss to their company and the sovereignty of the US for various reasons.

I get both sides of the issue (I'm on the poor side myself) but I have to agree with my BF when he says that a Bernie win will hit the middle class the most. For his family to pay another $3 million per year in taxes will not prevent them from buying another vacation home but for a working middle class family like my family to pay another $3,000 per year in taxes means the difference between putting food on the table or not or skipping some other things that make life enjoyable. Bernie's 2% tax increase for the middle class is what lost my vote. Nothing in life is free. Nothing.

And to everyone saying the European way is better, why don't you go move there yourself? I actually have family there, lots of family. It is not all rosy as you think it is.

so there is this young brother probably 14 or 15 and the elders are already grooming him to do more for jehobadahhh.

most of the elders in this kh are old like 60+ and sometimes there are not enough brothers to do the mics or sound so you will see a 70 year old elder forced into action.

almost comical to see a brother who thinks instagram is an email service try to operate the sound system and projector as he plays the wrong song or brings the screen down during a prayer.

So now they seem to really be pushing this young kid to do more and on Sunday I overheard this one elder speaking to him trying to get him to come earlier so he can prepare to be an elder someday. Honestly I think this elder is a pedo. Us girls just know these things but whatevs. Anyways it just pisses me off to see this. The kid obviously does not want to do anything but is forced to cause of his parents and now he has the elders on him to do more for them. I hope he wakes up and moves out before he has to do anything.

NO! I actually hated them. I remember saying to myself why the f*k am I here? Oh right, for my parents. The same old BS repeated month after month. How many times can you hear that we need to clean the KH or go out in service? Arrggg! It makes me angry actually especially now that I am going through the reinstatement process!!!

Evaluating the problem of sexual abuse of children within the JW religion, why, how and for what reason

this topic has come up many times before on this forum and others but i think its worthy to reevaluate where and how this problem exists from an analytical perspective within the jw religion.

it is obvious that the wts has been covering up situations of child sexual abuse with careless irresponsible apathy for decades toward both possible victims and potentially identified perpetrators of this socially repugnant crime.

following guidelines as written in the bible which were emulated and exploited as a self protecting guideline to protect the outward image of the organization overall in spite of known acknowledgement that pedophilia is a serious crime in most countries.

there was/is a sister in my old hall who was a pharmaceutical sales rep and she was a huge proponent of anything in the drug industry.

I wish I had the money to eat organic stuff. I love LOVE LOVE Whole Foods but its too expensive for me. So I just buy organic fruits that have edible skin and organic milk and organic soy. That is all I can afford.
