And here I thought this was a friendly place, No I have been disfellowshipped for almost twenty years and I was only 17 when I was disfellowshipped, I am tired of the rest of my non witness family members telling me to just get used to it.

Get used to it! Sounds like Jehovah will take care of it too.

My Jw Dad calls me every once in awhile and is very friendly. I have even went to his house for dinner, went shopping with him and his wife. Then months go by and I call he is cold and distant. So I figure he doesn't want a relationship. So time moves on and he calls again all friendly on my answering machine. I am dreading calling him back and getting along ,then only to be dumped again.
I have four small children, his Grandchildren to think about too. My oldest is asking questions about why Grandpa doesn't ever come around since he only lives 10 miles away.

many here have told their stories as to what happened to them.
i have to ask this question.

Gopher you are so right on that one. Maybe if I was an adult when I was baptized I wouldn't be so bitter about my disfellowship.

The WTS and WALT DISNEY
by Sangdigger init has recently occured to me after visiting one of americas largest family theme parks that there are similarities between the wts and disney.
we all know how the wts puts much emphasis on appearances.
eg...men must wear suits, ties, no beards, no hair touching the ear or collar, no pants for women, nothing that would appear "wordly" (for those of you not informed, "wordly" refers to anyone not a jw).

Where do Witnesses go during Christmas? Disney World. Growing up near Disney we would see alot of witnesses we knew at Disney enjoying the majic kingdom and haunted house lol.

When you get baptized at 15 you really don't know what your getting into. At 17 hormones raging and your lust takes over and guilt makes you tell on yourself and all of the sudden your the whore of the world.

Double Standards
by Perfection Seeker indid anyone else have witness parents who the congregation thought were the "model" family, yet behind closed doors all hell broke loose?
i remember a time when my family was choosen to do a part at an assembly about the ideal family- yet behind the scenes, we were beat, yelled at, sworn at, never studied, had a family from hell, yet others always commented how "perfect" and christian our family was.
being a witness leaves deep & permanent scars.

My Dad would be the nicest "brother" at the hall and then would come home and be Mr. Negative. He would come home from meeting and say Jehovah will do away with this person that person on and on it would go.

Most Embarrasing Witness Moment from Childhood
by Perfection Seeker inanyone on here have a "most embarrasing witness moment" from childhood?
mine is from 7th grade- that was 20 years ago- but i still cringe when i think of it.
almost too hard to write down- but maybe it will be therapeutic & part of the healing process?

One of my teachers put my desk right in front of the flag so when it came time to salute the flag everyone would be looking at me sitting there.

I just went to my brothers witness wedding. I have been disfellowshipped many years now. I wasn't invited to reception, but my brother really wanted me at the wedding and felt bad that I wasn't allowed at reception. I went in with my head held high and acted friendly and as if I were free to talk to whoever I wanted. Most didn't know me but the ones that did were very nervous to talk to me. I was loving it. My brother always knows I love him and will not judge him over his choice of religion.
