I hated it, and only did the minimum to please others not for me, I was scared to death when I encountered someone that I knew... I only liked coffe break as Iike Tim Horton's.

Special Talk 4/30/06- Your thoughts on it-Jehovah being in Control
by architect infrom what it sounded like the special talk was another whose side are you on jehovah's or satans.. from the beginning the speaker said there is no new information!
he said "if youre not for jehovah then youre for satan- case closed!".
he also mentioned that jehovah has always had control of his creation!

Why do the British dubs have such an animosity to Harry Potter?!
by CaptainSchmideo inif i have ever mentioned that i've seen the movies or read the books to a witness in gb, i get the kind of reaction that used to be reserved for smurfs here in america.. i am not naive enough to not understand any discomfort with a school for witches, but this stuff is about as threatening as casper the friendly ghost.
i find the books charming, if a little long winded and formulaic.
the movies, especially the later two, tighten up the plots and jettison a lot of excess baggage.

I let my kids watch the Harry Potter movies and they like it alot, my wife which is still a more or less active dub, doesn't want them in the house, but both my boys saw the 3 movies at my moms place, the fourth one actually my wife let them watch in the house, but she did not want to see it, I guess its a begining that she at least lets the movies inside of the house...

vent time....friends who steal
by lucifer inokay i need to vent, i have a good friend who steals, i'll call her tina.
she is not poor, still lives with her parents who spoil her rotten, they buy her anything and ask for nothing in return.
she has had one job i think and didn't like it so she told the manager off and quit after maybe a month...it was at a video store for f's sake!

When you left the JWs did you keep their publications?
by White Waves ini threw everything away except the bible (which i now know is crap), the songbook and reasoning from the scriptures ( to use against them... primarily the conversation stopper part).
so many posters seem be able to access jw info easily and quote it... i wonder if i should have kept everything.
at the time, it was a way to start over and commit to never going back.

I kept a few, but what I do now is try to keep unline versions on CD for my research on the dubs.... so yes the books I do have less then before.

Things you see in a Public Bathroom!

this lady use to come in that we called poopy pants.
(not to her face) anyway, she would sit, eat, and go to the bathroom like clockwork.

Masturbation does remove the stress caused by going into field service and meetings I think I did more of it...... Smoking well yes I did quit but still took pot on occasion.... It kept me sane!!! About 2 years of studying before then baptism.

Should Witness parents be allowed to adopt nonWitness children?
by free2beme inwith my sister now in the process of adoption, i am becoming more and more aware how the courts view witnesses.
although you are told religion will not play a factor, my sister says that a lot of attention has been focused on the fact that her husband and her are not both witnesses and they want to know "now" what religion the child will be raised in.
they have not said that it would play a factor, but i think it will.

Well I think they shouldn't, most courts don't know how they are, there is one case now in Quebec about 2 children that where adopted after the parents died in an accident, and the kids complain constantly to the natural grandparents that they are not allowed to do anything relating to holidays, birthdays and so on... yet those kids before did not have JW parents.
