In shock.
by lulu inlast night(tuesday) an announcement was made in our congregation that my husband and i had disassociated ourselves.
we did no such thing(for personal reasons) nor was any document whatsoever given to the local elders or anyone else.
nevertheless, that is what happened, apparently no letter of resignation is required.

Well considering it's an outright lie, isn't that slander? They are messing with your reputation, since you do have a reputation in the congregation. I would write a letter, and threaten to sue for slander.

Should I continue to support Bill Bowen?
by Gamaliel into whom it may concern, .
i have contributed financially to the cause of silentlambs.org and have, to a smaller extent, even promoted the website.
it is difficult enough to fathom the depth of hurt heaped on humankind, but impossible for me to understand how such suffering can be compounded with injustice, as i read experiences on silentlambs.org.

I saved some lives today! Found a TRACT
by Beans2 intoday i was working in the subway here in toronto and i looked over at a public phone and i saw what seemed to be a tract, so over i went and yes it was!
mysteriously placed so one could see it, no doubt counted as a placement and a few hours on the report.
so later on i am walking up the stairs and again i see this piece of paper, yet another tract of a different name.. so by taking these tracts i believe i may have saved someones life from the pain and suffering we have all been through.

Here is something to do, have a camera handy, if you ever see someone placing a mag like that, take a picture of them doing it, and if there happens to be a cop nearby, tell the cop, the guy is littering.

Ray Franz And Things That Are Too Hard To Handle.
by Englishman ini see that ray franz is coming in for a fair bit of criticism due to his apparrant unwillingness to accept that jw's had a problem with the existence of child abuse when he was a member of the gb.
also, it would appear that ray is being chided for his belief in the rule of 2 witnesses before action can be taken against an abuser.
it seems to me that it is quite likely that ray wasn't aware that there was a serious abuse problem within the society when he was a member of the gb, if only for the reason that ray would find such an activity so detestable that he would believe it to be a virtually impossible act for anyone to perpetrate.

That board, strikes me as a bunch of ex-jw's that still want to be JW's.

Let's Blame Ray Franz For Everything!!!
by minimus ini continue to read how franz is to blame for every wrong because, after all, he was on the governing body and he had to know everything that went on.
some here say, "let's drop this issue".

Well even if this law isn't perfect, it's better then what we have now, this would be like throwing the baby out with the bath water. There really is no, good excuse for not supporting it. For ammending it, yes. But to completely rejecting it, no.

Ya, so what your saying IW, is you defend the abuse policy, I'm not sure what you disagree with, and Bill was banned?

If RF was never born we would not need to Know BB, but if BB were never born, the WT would still be protecting pedophiles in secret.
Ok this, is a bit much. I think there would be pedophiles regaurdless if RF was there or not.

Rumsfeld Says We're Going To War ANYWAY!
by SYN in"on a november 14 radio call-in show, donald rumsfeld was asked what would happen if un weapons inspectors failed to find evidence of weapons of mass destruction in iraq, and whether or not that let hussein off the hook.
rumsfeld's response was that iraq did have weapons of mass destruction, and if the inspectors didn't find them, it was because iraq had successfully sabotaged the investigation.
then, when asked what the consequence of that action would be, rumsfeld deferred to president bush's statement that if hussein would not disarm willingly, 'the united states will lead a mighty coalition of freedom-loving nations and disarm saddam hussein.

So tell me, why then, the head of the CIA, thinks it's a bad idea, to go to war with Iraq? He should be in the know, wouldn't you think?
