  Why on earth do boys..............................

  think that farting and burping are sooooooooo funny????????

  my son will be 9 in jan and my bf's nephew is the same age only 2 weeks later than my son's birthday.

  my son (jessie) and chris (the nephew) stayed over for a couple days.

  My Mrs (accidentally) let one rip during a quiet moment in the book study once. Both my children, and myself, were so embarrassed! We didnt want to breathe either! hehe She has a habit of doing that at the most inopportune moments!

  Jesika, Try not to give your kids too much attention with their little game. You seem to be fuelling them to do it all the more. If they continue just tell them they stink (in a light hearted way), and if you`re in the car just wind down all of the windows, or if theyre inside tell them to go out. Its a phase that boys seem to go through. Some never finish it though - that might happen with your little angels if theyre rewarded with attention.

  What should i Do???

  in the past few months i have gotton into another depression,or maybe i have been in one for a long time and now its getting worst,whatever the case is,i cant seem to get out of it...i dont have much help any way,i rarely do anything and when i do get out the house its to go to the doctor or some other thing thats not really fun..... .

  my brother says its my fault im like this,i just wanted to know if its true,can i help it,or not?he said i did this to myself??

  ?i was thinking in what way?

  Hi Laura, I went through the same things and to be honest I still have times like that. It sometimes helps me to just take a walk or do something different. It doesnt have to be strenuous, just to break the cycle and get your mind and body to make a change. I know how easy it is to focus on negative things too. Just a five minute walk around the park with my thoughts to myself were the first steps I took. Whatever negativity other people put to you, try not to take it on board. We all have problems so youre no different to anyone else. We all have good points too and you are no different there either. Sleeping a lot is a symptom of depression, just as you say, and I know it can be a lovely way to while away the boring reality of wake-time life. There is enjoyment to be found out there though, why not try something you used to enjoy, if only for five minutes?

  The coming "disassociations"

  i have seen several threads about how the elders are going to be going around asking people if they still consider themselves to be jehovah's witnesses.

  this will undoubtedly result in multiple da announcements in the coming months.

  i'm curious how the average jw will perceive this and respond to it.

  I bumped into an elder (one of the very few I had a modicum of respect for) and he told me to expect a visit in the new year. He wouldnt say any more but from this topic I get the general idea. Ive decided to string whoever calls along for as long as possible. After all, I spent 9 years waiting for the new system, depriving my kids of xmas and birthdays, losing my family and finally being shunned by the dub fanatics when I faded away.

  It`ll hopefully go something like this: Them: Do you consider yourself to be a JW? Me: I don`t see why not - I havent done anything wrong. Them: Do you consider blahblah to be Gods channel/the truth/whatever? Me: Well, I spent 9 years studying it very closely and havent looked at anything else since. Them: Would you like a bible study/whatever help to return? Me: Sure, why not? Then I would make excuses for not making their meetings etc for as long as I can keep it up.

  The only thing i dont want to do is give them the pleasure of handing in time. I`ll ask for certain ones to call that could use that honour, on the odd occasions I grant "whoever" an audience.

  What really are the chances of successfully suing the org? Surely it would bankrupt them well before theyd reimbursed everyone?

  Mean or just obedient

  was thinking bout xmas and all just recently when i wondered if anyone has had my experience of `meanness`..we all know that xmas, birthdays and easter are outta bounds for jw`s and when my parents started to study (when i was 8) we were told that although xmas`s etc would`nt be the same it would be made up for during the year - guess what it never was!.

  now being english folks and all i know they can be inclined to be a bit sparing on the pennies but hell are they mean....no way known do they go outta their way to give anyone a gift for anything!

  i don`t think this is a good way to live for anyone - it teaches people to be mean hearted and is not a sign of love...i think!

  After leaving the JW`s we soon returned to celebrating xmases and birthdays as best we could but by that time our two children were in their mid to late teens and preferred to be out with their mates, partying, going to the cinema etc. Although they appeared happy and grateful I always sensed "something" was still missing. Well, come my sons 16th birthday I bought him a big birthday cake with lots of candles and presented it to him whilst our little family sang Happy Birthday to him. What did he do? I was expecting him to say "Dont be daft Dad, Im 16" or words to that effect. Instead he just sat there, tears welling in his eyes, absolutely speechless. This big strapping lad, a hard young man more used to taking knocks on the football field and larking around with his mates, now glued to the spot, was soaking up the moment, seemingly forever. Those couple of minutes were priceless. He had never had a birthday cake but boy did he appreciate that token of our love. It was like all 16 birthdays rolled into one.

  I`m glad we did that, it made me feel in a small way that we had "caught up" with some of the happy times that the JWs deprived us of.

  i had an idea that i could build a uk map of everyones location which would show you instantly who is in your area from jwd.. (it might be an idea to do a seperate us one aswell but i'll wait and see if this one takes off first, or if anyone from the us wants to volunteer to do that one).

  (and australia but you are all in the same backyard anyway - literally!!!).

  anyway, all you have to do is post or email me your username and town and i will draw you on the map above which will change gradually to include everyone!.

  It rained on Saturday, it rained on Sunday, it rained on Monday and guess what??? Yes! Its raining today!! What a coincidence!!!!

  If something is possible to happen then never write it off - thats what I say.

  Also, why do so many significant things happen in my life on the 28th of a month? My birthday, my Dads birthday, sister in laws birthday, wedding day (thats the first date we were offered), and others that dont spring to mind just now.

  there was a middle-aged woman in our kingdom hall who was a long time pioneer.

  she was a very warm and loving woman and so when she announced her plans for a family vacation one year some of us got together and took up a little collection so that she would have some extra money to spend.

  after all, she was working hard for jehovah and werent we supposed to show our appreciation?.
