Overweight JWs -- on the increase?
by Seeker inyes, i know, the title is a pun.
it was deliberate.. i can recall in the 1970s seeing very few overweight jws.
in fact, i used to think (in my arrogant jw manner) that this was a sign of how jws were better at self-control than worldly people.

Well, I'm stuck in my office in Manhattan for now

i know nytelecom works nearby (across the river?
), but i can tell you all that today has been (and will continue to be for a loooong time) the single most bizarre, surreal event i have witnessed.. i work in an office building at 26 broadway in manhattan, about 10 blocks from the world trade towers.

The REAL reason JW's don't give parties....
by LDH ini posted this in response to patio's thread called jw kids, but thought i'd post it here for any who hadn't read that thread.. i'd like to share an experience that i haven't shared so far (don't worry there's lots more, lol!).
when i was 24, i decided that the young people had no one to hang out with.
i decided to host a rollerskating party at the rollerskating rink in my hometown.

Meetings
by OrangeBlossom indo you think the wts will ever reduce the number of meetings per week, maybe drop one night a week?
just curious!
it seems that everyone is so whipped from working all day, i really think that's why there is such a drop in meeting attendance.
