I recently received an alert from Norton anti virus that file C:\WINDOWS\Tempory Internet Files\Conrent.IE5KTIN81.2F\vcounter[1].htm was infected with a Trojan Horse. I tried to repair but couldn't so I quarantined it and attempted to submit to Symantec research centre......they didn't want it saying it was non repairable, they knew about it and to delete the file and replace if necessary eeeeerrrrr ddddooooo. I sent it anyway because I didn't want it either and I'm not sure I'm capable of deleting the file.
So anyway, quarantine is now showing empty and a recent scan of my hard drive is clean. Does this mean submitting the file has cleared it off my system and if not how do I delete the file and replace it????
Symantec will not give me online support as they say my software is out of date (I only installed it 18 months ago) and the knowledge base is no help.
Any help anyone can offer is appreciated.
