Always had a problem with self worth. Since breaking free it has improved dramatically but it's still a struggle.

How many people on here have low self-esteem?
by Chemical Emotions ini do, so i was just curious.. i know the org tends to attract/cause/contribute to people having low self-esteem, so i figure a lot of people must have it as bad or worse than me..

The one on child baptism is interesting considering they are really pushing those in the 12 year old age range to take the plunge

I'm so happy to hear about your dad breaking free. You and Jack are too adorable for words you looked so happy in the pics. Timothy just keep living your life. It's sad that she will probably start to treat you as a JW is told to since being your friend has not worked to bring you back. I hope she won't and will open her eyes but the reality is the cult think is so strong.

Do You Think JWs Are Realizing That They Have Been Duped?
by minimus ini think that many of them begrudgingly admit that they are going to die.
they are not going to live in a paradise with all the animals, blah, blah, blah.. i think that even if they won't speak out about it, it has to do more than just cross their minds.. nobody likes to be duped..

The Bethelites I have personally known who were sent to the field are still drinking the kool aid. They were told they were to be of help to the local cong's due to their experience and that the downsizing is part of the outworking of Jehovah's purpose. They went back to cong's and were treated like royalty.

Thoughts and Opinions on the VAA?
by arko_n9ne inas i've posted multiple times before, i am new to many of the aspects of wts scandals so a couple weeks ago, i was on youtube and heard of a group concept from tim kilgore called the vaa (vast apostate army).. personally, i like the concept of former witnesses and anti-watchtower proponents uniting to stand against the wrong doings of the organization.
i would like their rally in a few years to succeed.
if things look promising enough, i more than likely will go.. but honestly, i don't know much about the vaa, and since it's not a concept with that "new car smell" i imagine people have more infor to offer.. i saw on older posts that witnesses are not fans of the idea of anyone banding together en masse against them, as they go to the lengths of calling the vaa a terrorist organization (though no acts of violence or tyranny have been committed or threatened).. so if anyone can offer insight into this group, it would help a man know if it's a group worth rallying with.. .

JW's like the Catholics before them are the ones who have attached the evil connotations to the word apostate or apostasy
From the Oxford Dictionary Apostate:
noun - a person who renounces a religious or political belief or principle
Adjective - abandoning a a religious or political belief or principle Origin - Middle English : from ecclesiastical Latin apostata, from Greek apostates 'apostate, runaway slave'I have no problem with this label for I did abandon the religious beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses. The origin of the word meaning runaway slave is even more approppriate.

Blond-Moment's comment pretty much sums up all I feel
Tuesday said "It's giving power to the powerless and a voice to the voiceless."
I get messages from people thanking me for speaking up and inspiring them not to be afraid of or be ashamed by their JW family and former friends. Some have been moved to do what they can to make others aware of what the WBT$ is. The name does strike fear in JW's. My husband saw the group name listed on the side of my facebook page and freaked out. The VAA is organized by a concept & there is no need for it to be something formal. In my mind VAA stands for everyone who has had a part in exposing the Craptower whether or not they identify with the name or not. -

New Documentary to boost JW's stand on blood
by discreetslave inthis trailer is circulating on jw apologist sites and youtube channels just in time for their annual reminder on no blood.

@WallsofJericho Even though they don't listen to the 1000's of dr's who speak positively about blood transfusions JW's do say "this dr. says blood transfusions are dangerous so there you have it! We've been right all along!"
Case in point Dr Areyah Shandler who is in this video. He was featured in their No Blood video and he's been in many press releases about JW's and blood alternatives. They say it's only because of what is in the Bible but information like this documentary the drool over because it does validate their stand. They say see we told you so.
Here are some comments by JW apologists on YouTube regarding this trailer" It's interesting how medical opinion regarding blood has changed and is still changing with each passing year. Going from being a "miracle cure" that was always "life-saving" to now a treatment that should only? be used as "a last resort", soon it will never be used and regarded by the medical community as one of it's biggest blunders of the last 70years. Jehovah's wisdom proven right yet again. Abstain from blood. Trust Jehovah not man"Another said "This is wonderful. I first seen this on the 'Non-Blood Medical Management' facebook page. It's so sad that many people have been brainwashed to think blood transfusions are good for them. Untold numbers must of? unnecessarily died because of this dangerous, untested practice. The truth is here."
