forgive me if my approach is clumsy.. my story is not extraordinary and hardly interesting, so thanks.

Welcome and my heart goes out to yo hang in there I know how you feel comparing yourself to Truman. My exit felt just like the ending. Sadly my husband is still in we have 2 young children, so I like so many others here understand you circumstance. Some here have had their mates leave with them so you have a fund of knowlrdge here and on other sites.

I haven't really picked one as a favorite. This one currently reflects my feelings regarding my JW experience

I know why the caged bird sings by Maya Angelou A free bird leaps on the back
Of the wind and floats downstream
Till the current ends and dips his wing
In the orange suns rays
And dares to claim the sky.

But a BIRD that stalks down his narrow cage
Can seldom see through his bars of rage
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings with a fearful trill
Of things unknown but longed for still
And his tune is heard on the distant hill for
The caged bird sings of freedom.

The free bird thinks of another breeze
And the trade winds soft through
The sighing trees
And the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright
Lawn and he names the sky his own.

His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream

a private establishment, but groups could rent it out.

for private parties.

Bethelites do they get raises?

When I was there, there were bonuses given before the district convention season to help cover travel expenses. I can't remember the exact amount it was like 20 dollars for every 2 years of full time service up to 20 years or so. Bethelites had to pay for anything they got from the commissary. They're expected to put in a donation for their medications, dry cleaning, and the literature they get from the bethel Bookrooms.

The Watchotower is blasphemous and they fit into the description of Oholibah from Ezek. ch 23.

Do active JW's understand the "new light" on the feet toes of the staue in Daniel?

can someone enlighten me as to what is the new understanding vs the old one regarding the vision of the statue was given by god to king nebuchadnezzar of babylon in a dream?

i have asked two of the jw's who work with me and neither of them were able to explain it to me.

the best i got was "well the feet and clay are not just the u.s. and great britain, they are i think most of the big powers as a whole or something like that.".

It's amazing how little the witnesses understand regarding their own techings on prophecy. The new light is recycled old light, they've been back & forth on toes over the years . They admitted they put emphasis on the toes when the account makes no issue of the toes.So they are back to a more polished teaching from 78-85. The picture in the Daniel book is old light.

The current understanding is the legs are Rome. The feet of iron and clay represent the Anglo-American world power, being Britain and the United States. The clay represents divisive elements within the realm of influence of this Anglo-American world power. These elements undermine the ability of this world power to act.

The light flickers more & more as the day draws near. Like an old flourescent bulb that's been turned on & off too many times.
