i mean humans has been created with emotional and physical needs that relationships provide, right?.

(1 Timothy 4:1-3) 4 However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons, 2 by the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, marked in their conscience as with a branding iron; 3 forbidding to marry, commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be partaken of with thanksgiving by those who have faith and accurately know the truth. . .

Before I even woke up as a JW I remember readiing this and asking my husband if the WT was guilty of breaking this command. Even though they don't forbid it they heavily encourage youths to remain single & childless. To me it seemed like a modified version of Catholic celibacy.

Before someone who is alienated from God can become a member of God’s family of approved servants, he first needs to make a solemn promise to Jehovah. To understand why, imagine a respectable father who shows kind interest in an orphaned youth and wishes to adopt him as a member of his own family. The father is known to be a good man. Still, before accepting the youth as his son, the man wants the boy to make a promise. So the man says, “Before I accept you as a son, I need to know that you will love and respect me as your father.” Only if the youth is willing to make a solemn promise will the man admit him into his family. Is that not reasonable? Similarly, Jehovah accepts into his family only those who are willing to make a vow of dedication to him. w10 1/15 1:13

Does this seem off base to anyone else? I find this to be another example of the conditional love, JW's really don't get what love is.

Little sis got shunned today by big sis

i called my sister today and they said "we were shunned today.

" normally this is a bit of a non event after all how many faders get shunned on a regular basis.

i asked who it was and they said "big sis" now this is a shock.

we had an elder that was hung up on mens haircuts he had a real thing about how short mens hair should be and even told one bro off for parting his hair down the middle.. even told one bro to shave off his sideburns.. a c.o who was paronoid about sound always telling the bro in charge off.. .

a d.o who orded the attendants to remove crying babys from assemblys on more than a few occations...hans hubler for those that know him..

A circuit overseer demanded a full meal for lunch, he said lunch was their big meal & they worked to hard just for sandwiches. He also hated paper plates & plasstic cutlery. He insisted he & his wife be served on normal dinnerware. He went on about pioneers dressing in business suits.

A circuit overseer embarrassed a sister by telling her there is no reason her husband should have a problem with masturbation if she was doing her part as a wife.

An elder insisted with a sister a husband can't rape his wife.

They want to stop the bleeding in major countries. They think by sending in the big trees of righteousness it will halp slow down the apostate influence. They may feel missionaries will add some shore up congregations struggling with low attendance & field service hours. In regards to the other schools I rember a pioneer sister feeling left out that there isn't a school for single sisters who want ot serve where the need is greater.

I told the baptist church pastor that I'm gay!

his reaction wasnt as liberal as i hoped it would be.

he said that we needed to discuss it.

however, gone are the days where im putting myself in the firing line and not sticking up for myself.

Jesus preached the church of spirit & truth, there what counts is Jesus & God's Grace for those who choose Christianity. Just go for fellowship if you can't find one that will accept you and you have a need to attend somewhere. Despite what the pastor thinks individuals in the congregations may see things differently.

You've just exited a spiritually abusive religion so your wounds may make you more sensitive so take your time. Honestly focusing on yourself , your education & on Jack are your priorities. Since you seek spirituality focus on your personal relationship with God the church is secondary to that.

2011 baptisms

i heard a speaker this last week give a talk that 267 thousand and change were baptized this last year.

the year before, and i do not have the exact number, was about 295 thousand and change.

i hope the trend continues..

Knowing JW's they'll use it as a sign the end is near love of the greter number cooling off. They can twist anything in their favor.

told my parents to never ever tell me they love me again....

...i told them in a very serious sitdown in their living room....said..."because if you cant show it then it does not count...that is not real love no matter who tells you it is....because it is how it makes me feel that determines if it is love....not if you just say it...and me and my sons do not feel that love at all now"....and i stayed calm and talked slowly and barely shed a tear as i held them back...and i had asked them to not say a word but just listen...dad said they would as long as it was not about religion as i knew he would.

this was two of the worst days of my life in a row..i told them the pain me and my boys feel from their shunning is worse than if they had died...that then i could grieve naturally and move on because that is normal....grief helps you cope...my grief is different because they choose to act like i am dead and normal grief does not seem to work on that.

i shared an epiphany with them i had about mens rules vs gods great idea of dna (but no i am not sure about a god anymore)it went kinda like this:.

If they love you they need to do as they say. You were right to make them face their stupidity & lack of natural affection.
