Good to hear! When my daughter was DF'd and even though we were active, she had moved away from the area. I told her all I wanted was for her to be happy in whoever she was. I never cut her off ever. Never felt that was right. Seen too many that were hyprocritical about claiming to cut family off but not really when other witnesses were not around they were worried about!!!!! I see a DF'd person that I know in the store and I walk right up to them now and say hello and tell them how much I love them and love them more than I did before!!!!!

GB is out of touch with reality! Why? (Ray Franz observation)
by 00DAD inin his book, in search of christian freedom, ray franz make the point about his uncle fred that he lived a detached, cloistered, isolated existence.
he was separated and far-removed from the day-to-day issues of ordinary people.
like him, i suspect that many or even most of the wt leaders fall into that category.

Using the full name and initial is consider the formal way to write names such as in APA rules for formal papers. So, this is not a big deal as near as I can say. Right hundreds of papers for your Master's degree and you might do so as well.

Those that have no logical argument, do name calling. When my sister mentioned to someone about Ray Franz, their first words was that Franz was a haughty man. But, they didn't dispute what he said they just deflected because they HAD no argument or wouldn't even try. The problem is that once they label you as an apostate there is no way to ever win with them unless they are willing to step outside the box and stop drinking the koolaid without ever asking what its made of!!!!!!!!!!!!

Call to legal department Jan 6, 2012
by koolaid-man introubled former witness calls legal department at the watchtower organization.............. dale beckman says, can the "society" be guilty of "alienation of affection?
" in my case, my family has been told it is proper to hate me and to do nothing to help me in any way - otherwise, they could be considered a sharer in my works of "unforgivable sin.
" they are told not to even greet me.

I feel bad for this guy too. Good job posting Rick. This guy is really hurting but he is so sadly mistaken to think the "organization" actually cares about us individually. As Franz said, they will work so hard to get someone new into the org but put little effort into keeping anyone. This guy needs to divorce and move on and get FULL visitation rights UNSUPERVISED. That is bull crap to put up with. I know ridiculous witnesses and they will always be uber super-self righteous and never change!!!! A stupid "sister-in-law" of my 60 yr. old sister actually said she needed a chaperone at the house with her husband and he other brother-in-law while her husband was in the hospital DYING of cancer and nearly dead. Chaperon a 60 yr. old woman!!!! My god, how crazy these people are. I came out and told her that she is a product of her training...as much as she is stupid, the JW org. taught her to be this stupid!!!!

what is the history of this site?
by tornapart inhi, i just wanted to know as i came here believing it is an 'anti-jw' site.
or at least one where former jws can meet together (or ones struggling within the wt).
yet looking at some early posts it seems it was originally for active jws.

Based on all the whining I am seeing here, I think I still perfer ExJehovahsWinessesForum on Yuku. Seems more adult oriented conversations and has been divisions of different types of discussions. I better stop for those that have left the organization. This site is just to full of BS at times.

I feel ethically compromised by Rick Fearon being allowed to continue posting here
by sabastious ini'm not entirely sure why, but rick has been the biggest trigger for me.
i have said some very mean things to him that i regret and i apologize to rick for them.
but what he is doing leaves me feeling dirty and i don't even know him.

I know I am realatively new to this board but I have been on others for a long time and after 40 years as a Witness, I tend to be very tolerent of what others believe or even try to sell in light of the strick life I led before. I take what ANYONE says on a board with a grain of salt and don't necessarily believe what they say...so why not treat Rick the same way. I have enjoyed his story and show myself. As one person said, it is sort of like the tabloids but for me, it is another form of coming to grips with leaving JWs and dealing with all the feelings and emotions I have. Rick's show is just another stop for some in the process. I still enjoy listening to Bible based discussions or even off the wall discussions....then I can choose what to believe. I don't see any reason to ban him or anyone else myself. I have seen some pretty off the wall topics here, so why isn't there room for Rick? Is everyone here as intolerant as the KH they came from????? Just my opinion.

The Watchtowers mission statement....changed ??when??
by mauiboy inseems to me that years ago the wt's mission statement inside the front cover of the magazine mentioned that when donations cease, it would be recognized that it was time to cease publication of the magazine.
does anyone else remember this...or am i losing it?
the satement now has nothing even suggesting such a sentiment, and i was wondering how others re-call it?

I do remember them saying that if donations dried up and they couldn't publish, it would simply be another sign that their preaching work is nearing the end? But, as far as any change I have not heard of this myself from those I know that are still active. I have been out of touch for several years now myself.

Why do you have it in so bad for Rick and Johnny? I listen to the show all the time. I sort of teat it like some of the public radio shows that talk about aliens picking people up from their farm in Iowa! I take it with a huge grain of salt. The woman from Legal, named Barbara seems 100% ligit based on what I have heard her say. Any way you look at it, it is a source of news and information about what is going on. Like the Internet, some true some false. Listen to Rick or don't....no one makes you? If you want someone telling you what to do, go back to the meetings...they will be happy there!

So, a female relative of mine who is 60 but inactive in the truth had their mate dying in the hospital. The older sister + husband and old brother (of dying man) (active witnesses) come to visit and stay at their home. The old sister is staying at the hospital around the clock for the duration of the visit but tells her sister-in-law that she MUST have a chaperon at the house if she is going to be there with her husband and her dying husbands older brother? Is that messed up or what? So, I get a call to come down and chaperon a 60 yr. old woman????? I told her I would come and visit to support her but not as a chaperon. The relative insisted this was not to "blame" on the brothers but was just the older sister being so strict...but I am sorry, they are the PRODUCT of the religion that thinks a near widowed woman who is 60 needs a chaperon??????? Messed up I say!!!!
