I think I will definitly tell them exactly how I feel about their organization. I am so sick of hiding my true self and what I believe that I almost wish to get it over and done with.

Question #3 "What will you say?"
by ozziepost inall irregular and inactive publishers will be pleased with the heartwarming news that april will see a special campaign by the elders to encourage you.
yes, don't faint, it must be true because the april kingdom ministry says so.
in fact, so strong is the forecasted encouragement, that it states on paragraph 25 of the insert article:.

Out of the Mouth of Babes
by deludednomore inwe have not attended a meeting for several months.
besides one elder who keeps pounding on our door, we have been left pretty much alone.
one jw friend still talks to us regularly.

I remember having this issue drilled into my head. I didn't want to except the "fact" that all the kids in school would be killed so I constantly preached to them...hmmm maybe that's why I never had that many friends growing up.

Don't forget that the witnesses once taught that in 1925 the men of old, Abraham, Isaac, David, Job...would be resurrected and would direct the org from their home which I might add was in their names, in Beth-Saren(I think that was the name.) Also that God lives on the star Alcyone in the Pleiades star cluster...this one you can find at my site http://www.geocities.com/graendal54/doubts.html it's in that article, Teachings the Watchtower Discarded.

Elders- "Trained or UnTrained- WHICH IS IT??
by JT inthe biggest error wt has continued to make for the last 120yrs is they leave a wonderful paper trail behind - where a serious student of study will have no problem following and seeing that so many of their lofty claims simply don't fly .
case in point - are the elders trained or untrained clergymen as it were?.
well for those of you who have never served as an elder allow me to share with you what elders are told about their training.

My father was an elder for quite some time and he never really felt comfortable with the "training" he recieved. He mentioned that the congregation he was appointed in had two sisters running the elders. They were deathly afraid of them and they constantly counseled the elders! On my father's appointment he gave a very strong talk on some subject...sorry wasn't paying attention so can't remember what it was on...and the sisters cornered him after the meeting to counsel him on being too outspoken. He hauled them into the backroom and disciplined them. The other elders were shocked...but they finally got some b***s. That was a bad thing as it turned out. My father said that a lot of the judicial decisions were made from the heart and not from prayer or thinking. There were two feuds that separated the congregation into two factions and there was a lot of infighting among the elders. The "training" they recieved went in one ear and out the other. I thank God they were a spiritually weak congregation because they were the reason I started to question the org.

WTBTS and Family Alienation!!!!!!!Help!!!!
by normie67 injust back from "worldly" funeral of close relative!
!to make it short i was upset about the fact that all the years as jw seen him probably 3 times over period of 15 yrs!
!me and my wife got into a heated discussion about how wtbts deals with association with "worldly" relatives!
-

Sorry I don't have the info your looking for, but I do know what your going through. I too had relatives pass away and never really knew them because we weren't supposed to associate with non-believing relatives because it could steer us into wrong thinking. I now have taken a different stance on the issue and am trying to repair what I can, the relationships I never had with relatives. Hang in there.

The Poor JW Children
by larc inthe children.
there are many things that could be changed, and even though i would never go back, i think there are some very basic changes they could make in their child rearing practices, simple changes that would make a big difference in their society.. 1. don't force small children to sit for two hours in a chair.. this was discussed at length on the thread about slapping children at the kingdom hall.. 2. don't bring children to meetings where the subject has to do with adult sexual practices.. 3. don't tell teenagers that they can't ask someone out for a date unless marriage is on their mind.. 4. don't tell them that they are not special, that they have to humble themselves and be like everyone else.. 5. don't tell them they have to get good grades through high school as a reflection of what jehovah has given them and then tell them they can't go to college when they graduate from high school at the top of their class.. 6. don't tell your wordly neighbors that you give your children presents all through the year, but not on their birthday, when they have never seen a special gift wrapped present in their life.. 7. don't expect a shy child to enjoy going from door to door and don't expect an extroverted, lively child to sit still at meetings.. 8. don't tell an inquiring child not to ask questions and don't tell them not to read interesting books.. 9. don't surprised if you don't change your ways that your children will leave you, even though they love you.

Great post...this is something I've thougt a lot about. My father left the org about three years ago and since then apologized for his actions as a father in restricting us from most of the normal activities of a youth. I told him that it wasn't his fault, but the fault of those that programmed him to act in the way he did. This subject is the very reason why I try and help those in cults specifically the witnesses. It breaks my heart to see young ones that can't smile because nothing in their life is worth smiling over. I would almost dare to say that at least 75% of witness teens have suicidal thoughts and tendencies. It's very sad.

I watched it last night. The guy had the same kinda feelings that ex-witnesses do. The members including his own children and wife wouldn't talk to him much less look at him after he left. It was very sad.
