Kerry is a nice guy but I think he'd do great in a 3rd version of the Munsters myself. So wooden, no natural speaking ability.
My 2nd favourite is Joe Lieberman.
What do you guys think?

Thanks Valis and Big Tex...I wrote her back and thanked her for her comments. I remember that her mother (my boss's wife) took magazines for years from a Witness at our congregation, so I'm not entirely surprised that the daughter would become a Witness- I can assure you her father must be pissed!
PS. the play will be written over the next couple of months for a workshop in May/June then fall production.

that I think you used to work for my father many years ago. I was in the
same grade as your sister Marina. I remember that I used to sit beside her
in home room in grade 10 or 11. I used to look at her every day and think,
"something is wrong there"... of course I never had any idea. How is she
now? I am very sorry for anything that you and your siblings endured and
if there was something that any of us should have known and
overlooked. Any way that we could have helped. I am one of Jehovah's
Witnesses myself now, having come to learn the faith as an adult. I'm
sorry that your father used it to victimize you. I also caught the tail
end of a review of your book on TV recently. Unfortunately, it was pretty
much over before I caught on and started to pay attention.

Anyone see Dean and his wife interviewed by Diane Sawyer? Or the dem. debate? Dean aced both of them. Kerry and Clark looked stage struck. Lieberman also was in fine form.
Unfortunately the media direct the spin and many people get caught up with it.
I was thinking, God, what I would have given to have a speaker like Dean when I sat at all those boring assemblies and public talks!

Dean and his wife will be interviewed by Diane Sawyer tonight. I have seen hehigh energy performance/speech in Iowa replayed probably 100 times now - I think it's great.
I think he's the most real candidate of the lot of them. I also like Lieberman.

Hey this Canadian-boy is an American news addict...I love Howard Dean...
I watched all the thank you speeches ...yawn..the only one who didn't put me to sleep was Dean. I even wrote a letter to one of the New Hampshire papers and also to CNN: Editor, I'm a writer in Canada who's addicted to your American politics. One of the things that drives me nuts though is how the press/reporters play follow the leader. I mean, do you determine your stories based on the pecking order of a daily poll, find inspiration from cable news programs or God forbid, actually work at discovering and reporting original news coverage? The current Democratic Presidential race gives "the last minute club" new meaning! Just one example: how the press is handling the Howard Dean story. I've gotten dizzy watching how this man has went from Howard Who, to Golden Boy, to Angry Dean! I predict New Hamphirians will make up their own mind. They won't follow anyone's lead! Kerry and the rest are good guys, but Howard Dean speaks from the gut and mind. But I'm a Canadian, what do I know!

the network confirmed the 2nd season begins monday nights mar 8 - there are 6 episodes...they are leading with a doc on a trial and ending with ours monday night, apr 12. she says they are bookending the series with the strongest episodes!
she wanted to know if i would be the person they use for the publicity in terms of story, interviews...i have to go to toronto soon for a meeting with the publicist.
Good questions...the film maker only sold first rights to Canadian tv. I know that certain American shows have expressed interests! I definitely will keep you posted!

Thanks Gretchen and Skally..I've seen a copy of this documentary. It is excellent. I've learned to take control of my destiny - and that includes what projects I take part in as far as the press goes in terms of my family's story!

The other thing is that the short film will be shown Feb 5 here in London, Ontario and that week the director and I will be on CBC Ontario Morning radio FM 93.5 (Feb 2 or 4) and on the local tv station, daytime on Rogers.
