the wife is disfellowshipped. she also sounds outraged by the injustice of the WTS set up in handling these types of issues.

I guess she left it too late to bring the case to court and did not quantify her damages. Now she is lumbered with his court costs. poor thing.

I hope she has support and if she wants to take it further she is going to need to see a lawyer first.

i know some dissatisified members have planned to "throw caution to the wind" when they exit and break the news as a stunning revelation of lies.

some of my funniest memories were of teachers and others terminated but since they had to finish their contract, they decided to share their insights and horrors.

in normal life, there is a certain allowance made under the circumstances.

I was present at an unsuccessful attempt. A dissident took to the platform just as the meeting was about to start and loudly announced that the faithful and discreet slave were false prophets and that jesus needed to be given back his proper place. Attendents forcibly removed him and the police were called. they took him away but he was released as the congregation did not want to press charges.

recently I heard that he is back in the truth and doing very well. His dissident act was put down to mental illness

i'd like to work toward ensuring that the wts bans pedophiles from sharing in the door to door work out of consideration for the public.

i'd like to ensure that this ban applied not just to those who have been convicted of pedophile activities but also to those who have secretly confessed to elders.

would this subject be appropriate for an e-petition?

I know it was a dumb idea, I was just brainstorming and part way through thinking about religious representatives/all cold callers being made to wear ID badges, I realised that they'd say ' Jw's are not representatives ' etc.. and they already ignore cold caller signs for some reason. Trying to think of the right wording for any law related to a 'personal ministry' that isn't selling anything seems impossible. Sorry for throwing out the 1st stupid thing that came to mind..

this is the gap I want governments to close a little - on the one hand JWs say they are not reps they are fulfilling their faith. But on the other hand they also are told they are representing Jehovah and his organisation. same goes for the issue of volunteering. for the purposes of their ministry and child abuse legislation they are not volunteers but when it comes to registering with the charity commission they are volunteers. Goverments recognise that these defintions change with context and religions are given these freedoms. However an e- petition whilst registering a protest tells the govenment that all we are asking is that a small aspect of their ministry be modified for the protection of vulnerable ones.

The Two Trees - My Genesis Ponderings

the purpose behind the article is to explore my own doubts and long-standing confusion over the genesis narrative - particularly the events surrounding adam and eve's expulsion from eden, and the "two trees" (namely the "tree of life" and the "tree of the knowledge of good and bad").. in my article i discuss my confusion over what the exact properties of the "tree of the knowledge of good and bad" may have been, and the fact that evidently by eating of the fruit adam and eve did not become sinful but more godlike.

my ponderings

whether there were two trees or just one tree, to me trees (and the snake) represent nature. The clothing that adam and even were given by God could be seen to reflect manufacture. God could be seen to be supporting civilisation.

edit: the snake living with humans is interesting (Josephus in cedars above hiya team mate). this would suggest, following my reasoning, that humans at first, bofore the advent of houses, cities etc, when humans lived in caves for example, that they shared their accommodation with snakes
